33 Chapter 33 Spirituality

"Huuuu! This is a bit more tiring than I thought." Long Lei muttered to himself before looking at his system panel. Cultivating to the Spirit Gathering Realm was much harder than he had previously conceived.

"The problem is not the amount of energy or the quality, but rather the lack of spirituality." He pondered as he looked through his available techniques. Suddenly his eyes fell upon his spatial ring. 'I recall father mentioning that the Thunder Devil technique would show its worth around now.' Long Lei thought before taking the technique out.

As he read through the scroll, he was beginning to understand what his father meant. 'This, this is exactly what I need!' He thought as he continued reading through the scroll.

The Thunder Devil technique began at the 9th Stage of Qi Refinement and its 1st step, was simply inducing the spirituality of the Thunder Devil within the user's Qi. This may sound simple on the surface but was actually pretty difficult, as most techniques didn't typically have a mantra to induce enlightenment but rather relied on the user having their own lucky encounter, which at the moment, Long Lei simply didn't have the time for.

'The benefits of the Thunder King Techniques is its cultivation speed, and quality of Qi, its only down side is the lack of a spirituality inducing mantra, which the Thunder Devil Technique just happens to cover.' Long Lei mused as a smile couldn't help but creep up onto his face.

"Am I blessed by the heavens themselves?" He asked while facing the ceiling of his bedroom. He could barely stop himself from cackling madly when he remembered the situation at hand.

Long Lei's hand quickly scrolled through the system interface and selected the fusion tab, before inputting the Thunder King Cultivation Technique, and the Thunder Devil Cultivation Technique. Luckily for Long Lei the cost was right within his budget, being 25,000 Rage Points, but oddly enough the output had a question mark instead of the usual preview.

'System, what the fuck is this?' He thought but the System answered soon after timely as always. [Due to the volatility of the items being placed the System has deemed placing a preview as unneeded, as the output may differ drastically from what the preview states. Don't worry though if it fails you will still have the 2 techniques.]

Hearing this Long Lei was a bit annoyed, but alas he chose to fuse them anyway. 'At worst I lose 25k Rage Points, at best I get a technique so op, that I can be the MVP of the war.' He mused as the system screen glowed.

It literally felt like a gacha game for Long Lei, and he was hoping for a good output. As he was looking at the screen with one eye closed, the light suddenly dimmed and out came a black and golden book with a few simple words written on it.

[Thunderous Devil King's Cultivation Technique:

The Thunderous Devil King's name resounds through both Heaven and Earth, none daring to stop his wrath as he summons lightning and thunder from the Heavens themselves, crushing all beneath his feet.

The Thunderous Devil King's Cultivation Technique, combines bother the unruly power of the Thunder Devil, and the majesty of the Thunder King, destroying all in its path]

Gazing at the prompt Long Lei didn't know what to say before suddenly clutching his own face. "HAHAHA!" He maniacally laughed as the information of the technique flooded his mind.

"I am indeed blessed by the heavens, nothing in this shitty realm can stop my ascent!" Long Lei declared before calming himself down. He was beyond happy, but if he wanted to cultivate he couldn't be in such a volatile state of being, also he had just gotten a new cultivation technique and he wanted to read it thoroughly.

After a few minutes of reading over the technique, and comparing it with its components Long Lei noted the differences. 'This technique is pretty much the combination of the Thunder King's quality and speed of gathering energy, and the Thunder Devil's spirituality, not only that but it seems to have a nifty function too.' He thought as he contrasted and compared his techniques.

If he had it his way, he'd probably sit there scanning the techniques for differences for hours on end, but time was of the essence and he didn't want to lose on a potential breakthrough just so he could see how much better his new technique was.

The 3 year old boy, then quickly sat in a meditative pose before reciting the mantra. Preferably he'd like his clones to do it, but he realised due to the nature of adding spirituality to his Qi, if he had multiple clones meditate with differing realisations and ideas then he might fuck up the entire thing as the spirituality induced would be conflicting with itself and might even end up with a deviation.

So for hours he sat there, reciting the mantra over and over, and bit by bit ideas popped into his head before he slowly imprinted them into his Qi, while simultaneously compressing it.

This was one of the benefits of the Thunderous Devil King's Cultivation Technique, the Imprint, this would allow him to have much more strength and stamina than the average Spirit Gathering cultivator and give him an inherent advantage over his opponents.

Slowly, slowly the Imprint formed, unlike what the name implied, it wasn't simply an Imprint, but rather a core of energy with a devil's face Imprinted onto it.

Hours passed, and then a day passed, and Long Lei was still cultivating, after about a week people began to get worried and Qin Mei had come to check on him.

"Do you think he's fine?" Qin Mei asked Mr.Lu who stood beside her. "Mistress if I may, Long Lei has been like this since the day I've known him, even more so after his cultivation began, I suggest we leave him to his own devices after all he has shown to be more than capable." Mr Lu said, trying to calm Qin Mei down.

"Yes, you're probably right." She replied before looking at her son again with some worry, she then swiftly walked away, afraid she would disturb his cultivation. "Good luck young master." Mr Lu said with a thumbs up before closing the door.
