The change

"You guys are conspiring against me I hear." I started out.

"We would never my queen, we only want to help." Talon answered, keeping to the same story Elijah was saying.

"Help." I laughed "helping would be, filling up the water so our pregnant women wouldn't have to do it risking their child's lives, help would be helping with the land. Help does not include sneaking behind my back."

"We never intended to sneak behind your back, we have just noticed a different behavior and are concerned."

"Concerned that I would harm my people? Concerned that a evil force has entered this castle?"

"Yes."

"My concern, is that the one creature I trusted to be my right hand man has turned his back on me and moved to the edge of the forest, my concern is my mate going to his cottage to talk about what you guys believe is wrong with me."

"I've never turned my back on you, I would never do that." Talon said, sounding like he was pleading.

"Then explain why you left!"

"Something told me to leave, that I was no longer welcomed in your home! It felt evil, and like it would harm me if I didn't listen!"

"Bull, all excuses! I see it in your eyes! You've lost faith in me like EVERYONE ELSE!" Again I caught myself yelling, half of me knew this wasn't me, but the other half felt good for yelling! I didn't know which one to follow, I felt as if I was losing myself but I didn't know how to find me! These feelings, these urges, these words that were being spoken to me felt so real, that it was hard to separate it from anything else.

"It isn't a excuse, please believe me!" He had tears in his eyes, I walked up and wiped the few that escaped.

"My talon, how bad I want to believe you, I just don't. So I have found a way, to make sure this never happens again." I placed my hand on his head and said the words that came easily to me.

"For your betrayal, I now punish you with a eternity of loyalty. Your face will no longer be your face but one of a crow, ever knowing ever true, he will deliver punishment as I seem fit and indicate death, your hands will no longer be hands, but talons, to not only fit your name but be able to hold the power to deliver my punishments. Your back will no longer be a back but a place to hold your wings, that will fly you high in the sky to be my eyes, this is my want and my want will come true!" I focused my power in every word and eventually he was on the ground screaming, his body transforming.

I smiled, finally getting him to what I wanted him to be, he was my loyal servant now, he will follow me into the depths of hell and not complain that my castle was evil, he will not fight me, but be by my side. As he stood he looked at me, and bowed his head. Elijah backed away, and I could tell that what I just did made him nervous and scared but he will eventually see it my way and see what I see, talon was a better version of himself and he will be more loyal then he has ever been!

"My queen, what do you need me to do!" Talon said, as shivers ran down my back, I reached and touched his beak.

"Watch over our land." With that he flew off.

"What have you done?" Elijah asked, and all I could think was, I've done the impossible and it was the best thing I've ever done.
