The trail of the zombie horde was impossible to miss, now that the team knew what they looked for. Zombies had flattened the ground with their feet and swept every living and undead creature larger than a bird with them. They didn't follow a straight line or a certain direction, but kept to roads and places that once had a lot of population.
It took the team three anxious, tense days of following the wide trail to prove at least one terrible possibility wrong—the horde still was far away from the Radiant Base. Now other problems appeared instead of that one.
"Oh my God! There are… millions!" Celina gasped after a single look in her binoculars.
She stopped their car far away from the zombies. Without the binoculars, the only thing she could see was the cloud of dust on the horizon. Only the powerful lenses let her see the black mass of the mob that raised it.
