"Isn't it simple enough?" Henrik shot a glare at her. "You're not allowed to use magic to kill them. This would deflect suspicion..."

Eve blinked in confusion. "What?"

"If you use magic, people might—"

"Do you believe I'd go so far as to kill them?" she interjected.

"Didn't you consider it?" he shot back.

"I never desired to harm them," Eve confessed.

"That woman sold you into—"

"It wasn't all bad," Eve interjected. This time, Henrik said nothing and just continued his work.
