Suffering

Eve woke up somewhat groggy. She held her head and frowned. It ached as if someone had found a hammer and used it to smash her head.

Then memories began to fill her head, and her expression immediately soured. How could it be like this? She quickly got up and realized she was still on the floor.

Regrettably, she could not remember how she fell unconscious. The last thing she recalled was arguing with the man about Max! She got out of her bed and checked the time. The sun had already risen!

"My lady?" Trinity's voice reached her ears. She looked at the door.

"Come in..."

"My lady, should I prepare your bath?" Trinity did not seem inclined to ask her anything. Did she not know that Eve had been sleeping on the floor all this time?

"Did you hear anything?" Eve asked, her expression serious.

"Your luggage has already been prepared by Mistress Ophelia. We have already loaded it on the carriage."
