Eve eased into the warm bath, the water soothing her tired muscles. Steam curled around her, creating a cozy cocoon in the bathroom. As she closed her eyes, thoughts of the Serpentine bloodline swirled in her mind.
Max's words still echoed inside her head. If that were indeed true, then she refused to believe that they were working alone. In fact, it would not be too far-fetched if they were actually collaborating with the humans. Meaning, they were working with Ronald and the others.
She tried to recall anything from the past that might be helpful, anything that could assist her. Yet, she came up with nothing. Ronald and even Michaela had never mentioned any blood sorcerers to her.
She was too focused on her experiments, and she had not paid any attention to the events happening outside of her cabin—naturally, this included the blood sorcerers.
