"An artifact?" Lucius furrowed his brow as he examined the cape in his hands.
"It will keep you safe," Evelynn responded while looking at the cauldron in front of her.
"Safe from what?"
She finally turned to face him. "Blatantly working with the humans is not going to endear you to the demons," she explained. "And considering that you've been invited to their Empire, it's best to take precautions."
"Aligning yourself with the humans is a very risky move for someone like you who could easily lose their immortality from a demon's bite," Evelynn added.
"I understand," Lucius replied. "But will they notice the artifact?"
"Other sorcerers' artifacts, perhaps. But not mine," She assured him with a confident smile.
"Now, what would I do without you?" Lucius smiled.
