Departure
When Maximilian informed her that they would be going sightseeing, he truly meant a picnic. With a mat, a basket full of bread and other food, and even some tea. Seeing this, Eve beamed, her eyes shining as she sat next to him. She watched as he prepared a sandwich for her.
She already knew that he knew how to cook and even prepare a sandwich, but she never expected him to prepare it for her. Once Max handed the sandwich, Eve accepted it. "Thank you."
"It is made of the ham that I preserved a few months back…" Maximilian said. "I hope you like it."
She took a large bite, her eyes turning crescents as she savored the sandwich. She looked at him, wondering how he was able to make something like this when… he no longer had the ability to taste things.
