"Will you still force me to attend such events when you become the Emperor one day?" Eve lifted an eyebrow at Ronaldo as she observed him from across the room. "I have no patience to talk to people, as I have told you before. I cannot promise that this banquet will not end up in a mess."
"Establishing a good relationship with the nobles is crucial," he responded with a soft voice. "And you already know that."
"That's precisely why I have no desire to work in the palace."
Ronaldo approached her, his gaze gentle, but Eve interpreted it as him being patient with her. He then tenderly tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ears.
"Establishing connections is vital, and one day you will realize that," he commented.
"I don't need connections. All I need is my magic and you. A friend like you is what I need," she grumbled in response.
