This World

Leah is busy eating while Mham is shocked at this new revelation.

"So I was right, there are more like us, but five years ago! "

"Yes I was summoned with my friends, I remembered clearly, it was new year's eve and we were seeing fireworks"

"How old were you when you got transported"

"I… I was 17 then" Suchi answered with a bit of hesitance.

"What no way, you are older than me?"

"Well the lifecycle for us emergers is very slow in this world"

"Ooh, now that makes sense. " Meham has many questions he wants to ask her, but then he realized that the conversation started with her being sad.

'Hm I should make her feel more open to me first, that way I can gather info more efficiently'

"If you don't mind I want to hear about the friends you mentioned"

"Umm…"Suchi glanced at Meham, he was showing off his poker-friendly face, Suchi took a deep sigh.

"I came here with my two childhood friends, Fiana was a lancer and duke was a light warrior like your friend "

She also explained little background detail about their relationship, at first she was nervous but seeing Meham being considerable of her storytelling and showing concern she started to get relaxed around him.

"We were welcomed by the king's retainers that time at the altar"

"Hmm, did they know you were coming here?"

"Yes, the king had a group of scholars that could predict when an emerger appears." Her expression starting to get tense now.

"If you are uncomfortable with talking about it you can stop." even though Meham main purpose was to get the info he genuinely started to feel bad about her.

"No its okay, I think you should listen to this as a newcomer"

"They escort us directly to the king, they seemed in a hurry and did not explain to us anything at that time we did not think much of it, we entered the throne room there was only one small throne in front on which the old king sitting was expecting us"

She explained how there was a lack of kingsmen in the court quite opposite to what they expected, only one retainer was standing beside him.

"We greeted the King, he told us that we were brought here for a great purpose, to purge the evil on this his land "

"Thats what was written on the screen we first saw too" Suchi nodded since their group met the retainers as soon as they stepped on the altar they did not get to self-explore anything that time.

"Afterward he introduced us to others like us, they all were gathered in huge training arena"

"How about you show him instead?" Leah put her huge glass of beer on the table, she was also listening to this conversation.

"I guess we can do that"

"What you can show me your memories or something?" Meham's guess was close to home.

"Yeah she can, let's do the reliving mirage thing!" Leah seemed pretty excited, Suchi was in a conundrum but then a familiar face show up.

"Hey, you are having quite a good time " It was Aram, he approached their table.

"Good to see you alive too"

"Can you join me for a sec!" Aram pulled Meham from his seat and dragged him out of the inn while waving at the 2 girls.

"What's his deal?"

"Maybe he needs to discuss something personal" Suchi replied to Leah while giving a shrug.

Meham followed Aram as soon as he stepped outside he started observing his surrounding, it was an open space like Time Square but in medieval time, there was all kind of stands like gems, accessories, native clothes, and a lot of cooked and uncooked food, the street was busy with people with various species

"It feels strange to experience from the inside out" He had no idea of the geography and his location which annoyed him a bit.

"So I was going around collecting information, AND YOU WERE JUST HAVING A FUN TIME WITH TWO BEAUTIES" Aram was fuming with jealousy.

'That's why he dragged me out…'

"So what did you find "

"Apparently we are in a different world and people from Earth are living here too "

"You did not know we are in another world?"

"Ah I do, just had to make sure" Aram replied with a little pause.

"Okay, any news about the group?"

"I asked the gatekeepers, they did not see anyone similar to the description I give them, I am worried"

"Hmm, Is this town closest to the forest?"

"I don't know"

"It's not" Leah and Suchi joined them.

"This Town is called Rishtav, it is at the south-north to the Serenity Forest, about 15km away "

"15? how did we get here?"

"I carried you two like sacks"

"I assume that there would be towns or at least small settlements close to the forest"

"Yes there are 3 small settlements about 2 to 3km apart, how did you know?"

"I just assumed since there were some chopped-down trees in the forest, it would be a great resource for them " once again Suchi was impressed with Meham's sense of reasoning.

"Oh so they must have resided in one of those areas" Aram cheered up.

"Let's go, we have to do the revisiting mirage" Leah grabbed Meham, which made him blush, Aram was visually fuming.

They observed a few shops on the way, and Meham opened the discussion about mana, Suchi explained that mana manipulation is usual in not just combat but many aspects of living here, only 1 out of 20 have an affinity to Mana in this world, if a mana user borns in a poor family he/she can turnaround their family status quite easily, whereas every emerger ever recorded in history was bound with greater affinity to mana that's why they naturally get higher status to average people at first but now circumstances are different.

"Suchi has quite a knowledge of this world"

They reached just outside the town near farmland, Suchi lift her hand in the air a small tear opened in space, she reached inside it and grab the chalk and a few gems.

"Wow, it's a 4d pocket Meham!" Aram's eyes were sparkling with excitement

"Yeah"

She started drawing inscriptions and assembling the gems over them.

"Just so you know she won't show this up to anyone. " Leah looked at Meham while narrowing her eyes.

"I understand. I owe you for this" Meham replied with a serious expression.
