The Keu's growl filled the basement.
'I've never faced a Keu before, but I'll take it on.'
'Keu don't have a sense of sight, so they follow their hearing and sense of smell.'
'Alright!'
Nagisa jumped right in at the Keu and sliced towards it with Mori. The Keu swiftly moved around, circling the room. The basement was around the size of a basketball court. It was more than enough room for a large Keu to move around.
The Keu wasn't infatuated by Regulus or Astoria, but its attacker, Nagisa. Usually, wild predators would go for any prey nearby, but what made the difference was the amount of mana Nagisa possessed.
It rushed in at Nagisa–she swirled her scythe around and caught it midair, then proceeded to slice at the Keu. The Keu caught the blade of the scythe and snapped at it.
'Guh! It's trying to gnaw on Mori!'
The Keu's canines struck at the blade of Mori, however, they weren't able to penetrate it whatsoever. Instead, it appeared that the demon was experiencing backlash. A shrill roar came out of the Keu as it retreated to its original spot.
'I'll finish this now.'

'Tch. This is troublesome, but I won't let a stray demon pass me.'
From the top of a building, the so-called Kei Asahi looked down upon a certain house. With the hairpin on her hair, she could sense the negative mana of an active stray demon within the house.
'Now, let's see. Eye of Providence.'
Her eye changed into the galaxy form, outlined with intricate red patterns. The Seraph bestowed upon her is the all-seeing eye, the Eye of Providence. It works well with her minimum Seraph, which is a sniper.
The colour of her vision became black. The outlines of everything were white and the base colour of everything else was black, similar to negative vision. The only things which were in a different colour, red, were entities. As in humans and animals.
'Two people in the house and a demon. Looks like a large dog, probably a Keu.'
In her hands appeared a sniper rifle. Its base colour was white and the rest was black. A large cross was plastered onto it. Asahi, Ekaterina Numa, laid down on the roof and adjusted her sniper scope slightly. She was ready to finish the Keu off with one shot.
'It's moving around and... now, it's stationary. Hmm... Only 2000m away, not too big of a problem. I can get there as soon as I take the demon down.'
Asahi's eye looked through the scope. This sniper wasn't a normal one. It's made from a special metal which only humans can touch. The scope is fixed with spatial magic which enhances the sight drastically. The sniper is called Schwerer Gustav since its firepower as a minimum Seraph is second to none. It shoots heavily compressed high-calibre bullets of wind and holy magic.
Holy magic can't travel through the atmosphere with a container or a catalyst. The wind magic acts as both.
'Perfect. Proceeding with exorcism.'
The trigger was pulled.
A pure bullet, surrounded by wind, escaped the sniper. In an instant, it disappeared. Birds flew off the trees, buildings and light posts as a wolf-like howl filled the air. Asahi stood up and blew at the smoke coming out of her sniper.
'Exorcism complete.'

Something pierced the Kue. It shot between its forehead and mouth. Blood leaked from the hole and then, suddenly, the Kue combusted, splattering blood everywhere. Nagisa was lucky enough to dodge the blood, and Regulus was too far away to be struck by the blood.
'What just...'
Regulus approached the end of the room, splattered with bloodstains, he was swiftly stopped by the white-haired demon. She pushed him backwards, away from the blood.
'Demon blood is corrosive to humans. It's best not to go near it. I'll clean it up later.'
'Ah... okay.'
His attention was directed at the hole in his house. He wasn't sure whether what happened was a natural cause or not. Regulus is concerned with the condition of his house more than anything. Astoria noticed his behaviour and restored the hole swiftly.
Nagisa analyzed the hole and knew instantly whose doing it was.
'Damn that Ekaterina...'
'What?'
'She'll be here any minute now. My kouhai, that is.'
The sound of a door slamming could be heard from upstairs. There was a flurry of footsteps. They slowly approached the basement door. Slowly, they descended down the basement stairs and...
'Ouch!'
A girl fell from the staircase. She tripped and fell on the stairs. She touched one of the worn-out parts on the steps. The girl looked up and her eyes instantly went to Nagisa.
'Senpai! It's you!'
The blue-haired girl rushed over to Nagisa and she kissed her body. She forced her senpai to embrace bodies. Nagisa simply let it happen and pats the girl on the head with a little "there, there."
'It's rude to barge into someone's house, Kei Asahi. Or should I say, Ekaterina Numa?'
The girl's eyes directed themselves onto something else–she was still holding on to Nagisa–her expression changed when she saw him.
Again, Regulus meets another exorcist, in a bizarre way.
Asahi means "morning sun" or "dawn" and she has blue hair, so... That's where I got the previous title, "A Blue Dawn" from. Sorry that this chapter is shorter and a little rushed, I wanted to make this section today.
