"The strongest of all warriors are these two: Time and Patience." ~ Leo Tolstoy
...
Jessy woke up abruptly, finding herself tied to a chair in a dark room. Her attempts to call for help were stifled by fear and discomfort. The door creaked open, revealing Zain's ominous presence. He approached her with heavy steps, holding a knife. Jessy's heart raced as she leaned away from him, their eyes locking briefly. Zain raised her chin with the knife, his words cryptic and confusing. He seemed to be pondering her purpose, her destiny.
Zain's attempt to touch Jessy's face was met with her spitting on him. Enraged, he slapped her forcefully and stormed out. Another man entered, offering her a tray of fruits. He tried to feed her, pleading for her assistance in his mother's dire situation. Despite her inability to speak, Jessy nodded in understanding. The man handed her a piece of paper and a blade, urging her to save herself and help his mother.
Fueled by the man's desperation, Jessy managed to free herself using the blade. Guided by his note, she navigated the unfamiliar surroundings, cautiously making her way through doors and corridors. She felt a mix of fear and skepticism as she moved forward, expecting guards around every corner.
...
Suddenly, Jessy bumped into someone and instinctively raised an iron rod, ready to strike. Gunshots rang out, hitting the man who had been in her path, saving him from her unintentional attack. Her blurry vision and exhaustion caught up with her, and she fainted.
...
Jessy's perspective shifted again...
Awakening in an unfamiliar room, she felt a measure of comfort despite the pain that wracked her body. She looked out of the window and found solace in the morning's beauty. Her memory replayed the events that had transpired, raising countless questions in her mind. Why had someone saved her? What were the motives behind the attack? Her thoughts swirled with confusion and frustration.
A maid entered the room, placing a tray nearby. Jessy's fever was evident, and the maid's words about the food helping her recover resonated. Questions haunted her as she tried to piece together her situation, and she realized that this room was different from hers. Panic gripped her anew, and she began to question her surroundings once more.
The door opened before she could make a move. She recognized Mr. Lucas entering the room. Annoyance and fear welled up inside her as she confronted him, demanding answers about why she was there and what he wanted from her.
...
As the story continues to unfold, Jessy's journey is fraught with danger, confusion, and unexpected twists. The web of intrigue deepens, leaving her and those around her struggling to untangle the truth and navigate the challenges they face.
