Eternal Retry

Kyle was a normal guy you could find anywhere. There was nothing special about him, until one day after breaking up with his girlfriend he died. He didn't know what had happened or how it happened, but he was sure he died. The moment he thought everything was over, he was able to open his eyes, and saw he was in his room. Unsure if everything was nothing but a nightmare, Kyle went on with his life only to find out he returned six months in the past. *Note: This is just a side project of mine so it will be updated, maybe once a year. It really depends if I have any spare time.

'My time and date setting must have reseted or something. I'll just fix that later, better hurry out.' Kyle exited his apartment and headed to the parking space. He got his motorcycle out it was a 2016 YAMAHA YZF R6, which Kyle bought a few months ago. When Kyle moved his motorcycle into a place with better lighting he noticed something weird.

'Wasn't there a scratch here on the right side? What happened to it, did I get it fixed? Oh, damn why is it getting harder for me to remember sh*t?'

Kyle was still confused about the sudden disappearance of the scratch on his bike, but he decided not to think about it too much, since it's not that big a deal. It was also possible that he was misremembering it.

After the slight delay, Kyle wore his helmet and headed out.

...

It usually takes Kyle around thirty minutes to get to the office. It was already 7:00 a.m and Like usual he parked his bike on his own parking space. It was weird to look at one bike taking up the space for what's seems to be a car's parking space. Many of Kyle's office mates have of course argued and complained that Kyle doesn't need the parking space, but of course he didn't care about their squabbling.

He earned the parking space, he got the parking space, of course he was going to use the parking space. After parking his bike, Kyle headed to his office room. When he was about to open the door to his office room, someone greeted him.

"Oh, Kyle what are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be on vacation?" The one who greeted Kyle was his friend and co-worker Alex. When Kyle heard what Alex said he was confused.

"Huh, what the hell are you talking about. I already took my vacation a month ago. Don't you remember?" Kyle looked at Alex with a face that seem to be saying is your head on straight. Alex on the other hand was looking at Kyle the exact same way.

"Are you having a stroke or something? A month ago, you were bragging about finally finishing that article about the foreign gang, that kidnaps people and forces them into hard labor. Isn't that why the chief gave you that long as* vacation, with pay even. Sh*t I'm f*cking jealous! You're even bringing Sarah along! Damn it, I still can't understand what that girl sees in you."

When Kyle heard what Alex said, his heart started to beat faster. He then remembered the date that he saw on his cellphone. He tried to remember what happened the past week, but he couldn't remember anything.

'It can't be...'

"Hey Alex, what's the date today?"

"Huh, it's November five, why are you asking? Did you really forget the date, is that why you're getting confused about your vacation time?"

When Kyle heard that it was November five his head started to hurt. His breathing became erratic, and he felt his knees shaking, as he was almost forced to kneel onto the floor. Seeing Kyle like that made Alex extremely worried.

"Is everything alright, do you need me to bring you to the hospital? Just nod your head if you can't answer." Alex helped Kyle up and was ready to bring him to the hospital, but then Kyle shook his head.

"No it's alright, I just got a bit dizzy. I had trouble sleeping last night." Kyle tried calming himself down, but he was still having a bit of difficulty. Still he needed to show Alex he was alright, so he showed his friend a tired smile.

"I guess, I'll just head home and rest. I'm on vacation, so I better start it right by sleeping in all day." Kyle tried to pass it as a joke, but Alex was still worried about his friend.

"Do you need me to call Sarah?"

"There's no need for that. I don't really like to disturb Sarah for something like this." Kyle was still confused as to what was really happening, but simply accepted that right now he and Sarah were still together.

"Fine, I'll be the one to bring you back to your place. You can't really ride your motorcycle in your condition."

Kyle wanted to go home by himself, but seeing how concerned Alex was he couldn't refuse his help. So Kyle accepted Alex's help and headed back home.

...

After placing Kyle on his bed, Alex once again asked Kyle if he needed anything.

"I just need to rest a bit. Thanks for bringing me home."

"No prob, but seriously man don't you need help with anything? How about calling Sarah, I'm sure she would want to know how you're doing."

"Nah, like I said, I don't want to bother her. This is nothing, I'll be alright after resting a bit."

"Fine, but you better call Sarah or me if something happens. I gotta get back or the chief might kill me."

"Sure, thanks again."

After waving his hand Alex left the room. Once Alex's footsteps could no longer be heard, there was only silence left in the room.

Kyle was in no mood to move, as fear was gripping his heart. He couldn't tell if what was happening was reality or was it an extension of his dream. If it were reality even if he told his friend Alex about his weird prophetic dream, he might think Kyle was going crazy.

Also at this point Kyle was still unsure about some parts of the dream. He couldn't even remember how he died at the end. Actually for some reason Kyle was having difficulty remembering things at the moment. Still he does remember some bits and pieces of the dream.

'If that dream was some sort of prophetic dream, then I've been given a second chance to avoid my death. Damn I'm not even sure if the dream really was prophetic, nothing from the dream has happened now. I need to get some proof, some evidence that this is all real. What was I suppose to be doing at this point?'

Kyle tried his very best to remember what he was going to do on this day.
