Just as she said those words, she heard the sound of growling and exhaled deeply. Those sounds didn't come from any evolved human, she turned around spotting creatures made out of darkness. She scans them up and down, 'Fire won't work on these creatures.'

It's almost like the one who sent these beasts knew about what happened the other day.
