Seeking Allies

Early in the morning, as the sun just touched the horizon, Zanuba was already awake and preparing. In her mind, the plan to seek allies and overthrow Reeve spun endlessly. She didn't want to wait any longer. Although Alaric had suggested they wait for information from his magical rats, Zanuba felt that every second passing only strengthened her half-brother's position on the throne.

As she left her room and passed through the living room, her gaze fell on Alaric, still sprawled in his chair, snoring loudly. Piere, who was also awake, stood beside him, looking at Alaric with an expression of both amusement and frustration.

"He really can't be relied on," Zanuba muttered, biting her lip.

Piere nodded in agreement. "He's always like this. Sometimes I wonder how someone like him can have a reputation as a great wizard."

Zanuba rolled her eyes and turned to Piere. "We can't wait for him to wake up. We have to move now. Follow me."
