17 Divorce? Thats impossible

Noah had his suit's jacket draped on his left arm, while the sleeves of his shirt were rolled immaculately. His metal grey eyes were filled with slight annoyance as he handed the jacket to the butler, who took it and then placed it on the clothes rack that was supposed to be sent to the laundry.

Madam Nelson turned to look at her son, who was walking inside the house. He looked tired and there were deep eye bags under his eyes, however, even then, he looked a fine gentleman.

"It's your wife," Madam Nelson huffed. "I don't know what has happened to her ever since last night, but she is getting more and more atrocious. Earlier this morning, she went missing and refused to pick up my calls when I wanted to bring her to the Baker's manor. It's good manners to apologize after hitting someone," she added when Noah looked at her confused.

Noah understood that his mother wanted to bring Ari to the Baker's manor because she wanted Ari to apologize to Ryan. But he refrained from speaking anything when he thought of the things that Ari had said to him in the afternoon.

When Noah did not say anything, Madam Nelson thought that her son was angry with Ari and decided to fan the flames even more.

"She did not even come back to cook lunch for me and now that she is back, she did not even cook dinner for me," Madam Nelson said pitifully. "You know that I cannot take salt and spices without careful preparation, our chef is good, but eventually he is just an outsider and is not as meticulous as a family member."

"You tell me what kind of daughter-in-law is so willful as to treat the health of her mother-in-law so lightly?" Madam Nelson added. In fact, in reality, she just liked it when Ari served her, and it gave her a deep satisfaction.

Noah heard his mother's complaints and felt his head ache even more. In the past, his mother used to complain that his wife did not prepare anything as per her requirements and now his mother was complaining because Ari did not cook anything for her.

However, he did not get into a quarrel with his mother. He wanted to speak with Ari first. Noah knew that if he and Ari divorced, then his grandfather would surely be upset with him.

"Where is Madam?" He questioned the butler, as he knew that his mother wasn't concerned about Ari.

"She is in the guest room," the butler promptly replied.

Noah nodded as he turned on his heels and climbed the stairs, Madam Nelson thought that her son was going to teach a lesson to Ari and chased after him. She was not going to miss the sight of Ari getting scolded by her son.

Glynn, who was watching the television show also, rushed after her brother and mother, no show could compare to Noah teaching Ari a lesson and reminding her, of her position in the house.

Though Noah knew why his mother and sister were following him, he did not stop them. In fact, he thought that if the two of them were with him, they would make Ari understand and make her stop fussing.

He walked to the guest room at the end of the corridor. His shoes made muffled sounds on the carpeted floor, as he came to a stop in front of the guest room, Noah raised his hand and then knocked on the door.

"Ariana, are you in there? I want to talk to you," Noah said through the door. He thought that Ari would continue ignoring him as she was a tiger on phone calls and texts but a kitten when it came to face-to-face confrontation.

However, contrary to his expectations, Ari opened the door.

"Ari, I——" Noah began, but his mouth suddenly went dry when he saw Ari dressed in a slim-fitting black dress. She had put light makeup on her face, but even then, she looked enchanting. Was this really his wife?

Because Noah had always tried to find Ariel's shadow in Ari, he had ignored the fact that Ari was far more seductive and cuter than Ariel. Her seductive cuteness was Ari's biggest strength.

In the past, Ari had tried to dress maturely like Ariel and even readied herself like her elder sister, who made her look unsightly.

Now that she was dressed up as how people around her age should dress up, Ari looked beautiful. Like a lotus finally shedding the ugly green algae sticking to it and blooming to its fullest potential.

"I think we have talked about everything," Ari said coldly, she picked up the divorce agreement on the cabinet next to the door and thrust it in Noah's hands. "You and your family think that I am the greatest obstacle in your path to pursue happiness. So let's divorce, it will make everyone happy."

Madam Nelson originally wanted to see Ari getting scolded and was even excited to see her shed tears of regret and plead in front of her, however, when she heard Ari's words, her eyes widened in shock.

On the other hand, Glynn smiled victoriously. She always wanted Ari to leave her family and let her brother marry Ariel, now that she had chased this witch out of the house, Glynn was naturally overjoyed.

"What do you mean by divorce? What's going on?" Madam Nelson questioned her son and Ariana. She hoped that she had misheard because Ari could not divorce her son! At least not now!

Her father-in-law still held the majority of the shares of the company, and he had indirectly hinted that he would not hand Noah and his father any shares unless Ari gave birth to his great-grandson.

If Ari divorced Noah, then what about those shares? What about her husband's position in the company?

And more importantly, if Ari divorced Noah…then what would she tell 'him'? If Ari left their family, that man would ruin her family.

Maybe he would even kill her if she ruined that man's plans!

No, she could not allow Ari to divorce Noah.
