Lan Xing clenched his right hand into a fist and pounded the wall before leaving the room.

"But I'm not without any chances now, judging from the situation earlier, he should be on his last legs, if not worse." Lan Xing crossed his arms. "So, they can't possibly be coming after me right now. In other words, the initiative is still with me!"

"For him, the most important thing now is to treat his wounds, the second most important thing is to hang on until midnight so that he can return to normal."

"The things that matter most to him, of course, matter most to me too. As things stand, he and I are at loggerheads - I must impede whatever he is up to, or directly thwart his plan."
