Chapter 14: Imperial
After silently finishing their breakfast, Lucas opened his mouth.
"I heard that you are learning swordplay from Adele, is that true." Lucas asked while he elegantly cleaned his lips with a small white handkerchief.
Hearing Lucas's question, Alex did feel a bit surprised about Lucas's question as Alex was kinda hoping for a 'Kicking out house' like news or something along the line.
'Rumours do spread fast like wildfire. But why is this supposed father of mine sudden interest in my daily life.' Alex thought while he replied.
"Yes Father, I recently became interested in learning about swords and when I asked Adele if she could teach me, she said yes." Hearing Alex reply, Andrew and even Tina suddenly perked their ears and carefully listened to their conversation.
But Lisa didn't even show any noticeable interest in the news—probably because she was already informed. But she was not that happy about the news.
Alex is still perplexed with why Lisa harbours a deep dislike for Alex, He can't just understand the reason for the undeserving hate that is not only directed at him but also Sylvie.
In the Flameborn family, Alex can be said to be the laziest and untalented individual, who has no motivation to become strong. The reason for that was still unknown for current Alex.
But the current Alex was different from the previous one, the sudden change may be the reason why Lucas called him.
"So, do you plan to become a swordsman instead of a magician, when you become an imperial." Lucas asked still maintaining his calm look.
'Ok, What the actual shit is going on? And why the sudden interest towards my future?' Alex thought before he replied.
"I have not decided on which path I should take when I become an Imperial. I just thought Swordplay is good which is why I am learning it." Lucas was silent after hearing Alex reply.
In this world, an Imperial can be said to be a person who embarks on the path of strength—Similar to a cultivator from a cultivation novel.
And a person can embark on the road of Imperial after they reach 10 years when their foundations are formed.
Normally it's only when you are 10 years old, you will have enough mana to create your foundation or first pillar, after your first pillar is formed you can start cultivating your strength.

So that two paths remain closed for now—And instead of choosing to wait for the year to check whether the levelling system works or not, Alex chose to become Imperial because if by any chance the game's levelling system doesn't work then he would fuck up.
And it's always better to predict the worst possible outcome.
After Lucas asked a couple more questions, he left the table followed by Lisa. Leaving only Andrew, Tina, Sylvie and Alex in the hall.
