Erlma: Mao the executioner

Long ago, a human being had their wish granted by an absolute entity after bringing peace to the earth. In exchange, the human asked to become an entity themselves. Many years later, in a small village in Italy in the seventeenth century, a young orphan boy named Mao, the cursed child, finds himself mistakenly transported with his friend to the Erlma tree. Fifty thousand people from around the world have been summoned by what is called the System, with the aim of overcoming each level of the Divine Tree to fulfill their wishes. They all receive a strange magic that brings forth systems describing everything about them: their age, their strengths, their skills, their level, their class, and so on. However, Mao has no predefined class and all his stats are at their lowest. Is it an error, or is he simply too weak? Will his misfortune once again take control of his life and lead him into the abyss? ***Some chapters are smaller than others, not all of them (1-4) *** ((The intro chapter are kinda trash atm so you can skip them without missing too much but still recommend to read.)) #Also, this is my first novel so pretty sure it's gonna be kinda hard to follow#

Amélia - Intro

As I open my eyes, long blonde hair comes into my field of vision. It's unmistakably Amélia's hair. She's the only one who knows my favorite spot. She looks at me with a wide smile stretching across her lips.

Amélia – "Well, Mao, you're not planning to spend the whole day here, are you?! You have tasks to do, I remind you."

I lift my head to look at her face adorned with sapphire blue eyes, expressing my obvious disinterest in the subject.

Amélia - "Come on! I don't want to get scolded by Mrs. Lynda. You know how she can get worked up over nothing!"

She takes my arm and forces me to stand up. Amélia easily lifts me with her almost superhuman strength. Since we were young, she has always been strong. Anyway, my shirt and pants are covered in sand.

Compared to me, who has always been so weak. I've always struggled to complete the tasks the director gives us at the orphanage.

Amélia - "We should have time to get back to the orphanage before Mrs. Lynda returns from the market."

Suddenly, she takes my hand and starts running along the white beach towards our village, towards the cliffs. As we arrive at the village gates, the colors of the buildings are illuminated by the sunlight, their shadows dancing in all directions. The many citizens are bustling about in the village.

After passing the first houses, I pray to put my hood on to avoid the stares. Although the town seems filled with joy and happiness, it's very easy for everything to change in the blink of an eye.

Amélia is well known in the village as a kind girl who isn't afraid to work, and the world tends to forget that we are without family.

Still running, I start to lose my breath until I fall to the ground. A lady tried to help me, but stopped suddenly after seeing my face. She seemed disgusted and moved away from me, shouting: "The cursed child!"

Amélia grabs my hand, saying "Don't listen to them, they don't even know you."

I nod and get up, noticing my minor injuries from the fall. Amélia - "Don't worry, it's nothing serious!"

Amélia then takes a moment to look around and sees Mrs. Lynda in the distance. This sudden appearance annoys Amelia.

Amélia - "Damn! We'll have to hurry, the crazy one is not far. We'll take another way."

So we went through the alleys to get to the orphanage.
