Recalling the past

**Back to -> Abha P.O.V**

Even when the cliff was unstable Abha couldn't move or figure out her situation because of her fever. When she along with the landmass slide downwards she felt as if she was floating on the cloud in her dreams. The dizziness had kicked her.

When she reached the layer of poisonous gas, her body felt a shearing pain piercing through her body. She cried out loud subconsciously.

She turned wide awake due to the pain at first. Then she realized she had fallen down the cliff. But later the pain crossed the limit of her body function and she couldn't bear so, she slowly seeped into darkness.

'Did he ever love me?...If I remain alive, I will take revenge for Brother Rick' was the last thought in her mind and promise she made to herself.

Abha with the landslide reached the bottom of the abyss. At the bottom, she fell into a large cold river. She was a lucky one. The river current carried her far far away from Osmin. After three days some of the villagers found her and brought her to the riverbank.

Noticing she was still alive they brought her to the villager's head house. She got basic treatment as the village wasn't advanced. But it may work for now.

Everyone thought she was fortunate to be still alive because her situation was heartbreaking and pitiful. Her skin was totally damaged and the cuts she got on her body, could remain scars forever.

Everyone thought about what the girl has gone through and who she was? If anyone knew she fell into the abyss or survived in the cold water for days, they will be hell shocked because no one survives in such a condition. Really wasn't she lucky to have a life left in her?

Abha who was laid in the bed had a long-long dream in her deep sleep. In her dreams, she recalled her childhood and her past which she, herself have even forgotten.....

^^Abha's past^^

A small child of two weeks old, on a basket was left outside the gate of an orphanage in country H. Even if there was no rain, the sound of thunder made the child wail loudly. Hearing the sound of a child's cry at the midnight, the staff of the orphanage rushed towards the gate and saw a beautiful child in a basket with a letter.

The child was immediately sent to the room of the director. The director was a woman in her fifties. Before she could carry the child, someone handled the letter to her. She read the letter aloud so others could also know what was written. It was something like,

'I can't introduce myself. As a mother, I do feel ashamed but I have no choice but to abandon the child. Her birth was unwanted as my husband's family didn't want a child soon. As I gave her a life I won't feel guilty for whatever I did. If you accept her and she grows well tell her never to search for her family.'

Everyone was burning with rage hearing the words. After the reading session, the director named the child 'Abha' and was accepted as the new member of the orphanage. In such a way, the child grew up in the orphanage till she was five years old. The child was very quiet and introverted.

When Abha was five years, a couple adopted her. The wife was a teacher and the husband was a supervisor in a construction company. Their income was sufficient for them. They adopted her because they couldn't conceive a child.

After Abha's six months of stay, the wife got pregnant with her first child. They sent her back saying, they couldn't manage their time to look after her.

For the second time, she was adopted by a merchant family when she was seven. The family had four members. Two sons and the parents. They wanted a daughter so she was adopted.

Her four months were good there but after than turned worst. One of their frequent male guests tried to sexually assault her and in response, she bit hard on that man's hand. First, the family acted as normal but after two other incidents, she was sent back to the orphanage. They told the director that Abha was violent and would never speak so they declared that she was mentally sick.

Abha was only the first case in the orphanage who was returned back by the adoptive family consecutive two times. She was treated as a shame. If people used to like her before then now, a large number of her hater increased. The director was neutral in all those. She only told others not to cross their limit.

In such an environment Abha grew up. No one was polite to her. None noticed she had stopped talking. She worked so hard but was never appreciated. Like everyone she too wished to have a loving family who could accept her wholeheartedly.

One day an old couple adopted her when she turned twelve. Everyone in the orphanage was tensed not because she would leave the orphanage but because they thought she would be returned for the third time too. When the wife tried to talk with Abha, for the first time in many years she spoke,

"You will not abandon me later too, will you?" was her first question with misty eyes.

"No, why will I?"

"I will be good" was her reply.

Later the old couple took her away to a new home, far from country H.

Abha lived with the couples in-country Pliuca. The old couple was professors as well as researchers in the medical field. The wife studied western while the husband studied eastern medicine.

They were a loving couple but most of the time they stayed at the labs. They had only a grandson named Rick who was four years older than Abha. Rick's parents had died in a car accident mysteriously five years ago.

Rick didn't like to talk with strangers and mostly stayed in his room after his parent's death. Rick won't interact with his friends because he used to say his friends don't understand him and are noisy.

He gave a feeling as if he was grieving and lonely to others. A child who was just turning into a teenager was acting depressed....why wouldn't the elder be tensed?

So, his grandparents thought that maybe he needed a friend same like him who will talk less. They had seen Abha during their visit to Country H. They sympathize her situation.

So, to find a friend and a companion they adopted Abha as their grandchild. But surprisingly both Abha and Rick became close.

Just like Rick, she called the old couple grandpa and grandma and for Rick, he became her brother, her support, and her guardian. They seem a happy and cozy family.
