1 Not meant to be for each other

The cliff of Yula mountain was prohibited for everyone because if one were to be a bit careless they could fall into the abyss. Because of the poisonous gas spread in the abyss, no one dared to enter. So, none knew how dangerous was the abyss.

On a full moon and quiet night, three shadows could be seen on the top of Yula mountain. Two men and a woman. One of the men was lying on the ground far from the cliff, wounded and unconscious. The remaining man and woman were pointing a gun at each other on the top of the cliff.

Breaking the silence the man spoke in a stern and commanding voice, "Abha let him go. Forget whatever happened before, don't cover your hand in blood. Your hands aren't made to kill anyone-"

"I can't... I have promised someone so whatever happens, I have to take him with me. I also don't wish to be a killer but you all have left no choice for me--" her voice was shaking.

Roy pointed his finger toward the wounded man and tried to soften "Abha whatever I did was to fulfill the oath I took. I won't regret what I did. I have promised someone too that I will keep him safe. I never break my promise. For the sake of our time, we had once together and if you ever once loved me, I beg you to let him go."

"Haha... you knew it. Then you acted like I was a stranger before, no? I thought you forgot about my existence. I loved you but Jay...no-no I should call you Roy did you ever love me before, even for a second?"

Hearing the question Roy was very quiet. In the dark night, only the sound of each other's heartbeat and breathing could be heard by both. Both were still pointing the gun toward each other and looking into each other's eyes, trying to find their own reflection but couldn't.

After a few seconds, Abha again spoke with a heartbreaking smile, "I knew you won't answer because you never did. Whatever was between us, was maybe only an attraction to you. Maybe that wasn't attraction either but a facade to spy on my brother through me...So it doesn't matter if I loved you before or I love you still now."

"I have already decided to not be on your side when you broke my heart and got engaged. Moreover, you are always against me and how could you kill the closest person to me? Why? You made me an orphan once again. You made me all alone. I shouldn't have opened my heart and let you enter to destroy me.....Maybe to fall for you was my mistake in the first place... Anyways, I can't let that man go. He deserves to be punished for the sins he committed. He has crossed the limit of humanity-" drops of tears were falling down from her eyes.

"Roy, you have only two choices: either let me take him away or if you want to take him, then pierce my heart and kill me with the gun you are pointing. I don't want to be on your opposite side and be your enemy with enmity. Every ounce of things will end between us. I shall be freed too otherwise, you know it hurts a lot here because of your heartless actions--" the girl with tears in her eyes pointed at her left chest with her finger it was the place where her heart was.

The girl couldn't control herself so sat on her butt and started to cry out loud. Her wails described her sorrows, heartbreak, pain, and so on. Her gun fell to the ground. Taking advantage of the situation Roy knocked Abha unconscious because he couldn't hear her accusation or see tears on her face.

Sitting on the cliff, Roy put unconscious Abha's head very carefully as she was like a precious jade in his lap and caress her face and hair. He wiped the tears with his finger. Bending down he lightly kissed the forehead. He turned extremely gentle and embraced her.

"Sorry dear, for the miseries I caused. How can you say that about me? I have fallen for you...for a long time ago, silly. Maybe it will be impossible to forget you. The ROY SMITH who never had a fault to point out got a weakness and that was you. I can't let my enemies know about it. I have made an oath and should be fulfilled. You being near me will distract me so I kept you far away. "

"I have my own responsibilities and you even joined with those who I have a blood feud with. Maybe the distance I maintained pushed us further and further. I don't know when we turned into a stranger. I know it was shocking for you to know about my engagement and upcoming marriage. But dear, the love hidden within me, for you is for eternity...If I was born as a commoner then I would have immediately made you my wife, my queen, and given you all the happiness in the world. But sadly I am a born SMITH so we aren't meant to be for each other...You and my world are vastly different. We can't co-exist. I wish all was an illusion but it turned out you are related to those traitors. Maybe if there is another life, I promise I would have stayed by your side and pampered you but in this life maybe I can't..." As he was speaking with himself few drops of tear fell from his eyes.

'If Abha could listen what would be her reaction? Will she be heartbroken or happy by the confession?'

He put the girl on the ground carefully and observed her for the last time and walked out. Carrying the wounded man and informing his subordinates, he left her alone. About fifteen minutes later the sound of a helicopter taking off could be heard and after that once again the night turned into silence.

Around morning, the sky was covered with a black cloud. Large drops of rain poured from the sky.

Abha had gained consciousness due to the rainfall. Firstly, disappointment filled her, her heart felt heavy and when she tried to sit, she couldn't move her body however she tried. She knew Ray won't restrict her movement. He would have directly killed her if he wished but not use underhand methods. So, someone had done something to her. But who and why--?

Abha shouted for help but nobody could hear her, only her echo returned from the mountain. Later on, she had a fever from being under the rainfall and couldn't speak a word too.

Maybe that was the largest rainfall of the year. It was raining continuously for two whole days. Due to the heavy rain, the land below the cliff was turning wet and unstable.

After a whole two days of rain, she along with the mass of land tumbled over the abyss. None noticed Abha's fall.

There was no one to wait for her return in Osmin. So who cared? The one who could care for her left her alone.

Two days of rain had created chaos everywhere. All people were shut in their houses. The government declared a holiday for a few days. But the news of landslides on the cliff was everywhere as Yula mountain was one of the top tourist destinations places of Osmin.
