Era: Dawn of the New Gods

Concise Synopsis: This is a post-apocalyptic story about the origins of various powerful figures that appeared after the apocalypse event. During the apocalypse monsters appeared possessing powers and constitution beyond the limits of human understanding. They ravaged the world and brought down all governments. The first part of the story follows Jade, a terrorist that was ravaging the world before the monsters arrived. ________________________________________ Dramatic Synopsis: The New Gods, the most feared and revered beings on the planet. They are forces capable of absolute destruction and creation. The Council of Branches Hayley, the Living Lie (if that is her real name) Chao Feng, the Prince of Stars Lara, the Mother of Heroes The Great City of Tver Gog, the Ever Losing War The Unkillable Freak Dave, the Flow Demon Avatari, (only the name is known) Satoshi, the Gentle Hurricane As Impactful as they are no one knew their origin, they are called the New Gods so there must be Old Gods. I and my colleagues dedicated our lives to finding their origins only to find out that the beings we fear and adore were once like us, average, mortal and weak... at least most of them were. ________________________________________ *It is a sort of 'reverse RPG' as no one knows anything either skills, abilities or how the system works but they find out on their own or develop their own skills or abilities. *The story has many protagonists and point of views but it paints a beautiful story of survival in a world of endless perils for both the humans and the monsters (some monsters are protagonists). *There is a system but it is very limited (not overpowered) and it treats everyone equally, monster or human. The system is very different from regular systems; no exp, levels and system items (it has similar concepts but they are not the same). *The story is a world building story where overall, the world is the true main character. Chapter 268: Pitch-Black Woman 2

People gathered around the family, most were wondering what went on. Mira wanted to observe the people but she was extremely shocked at what she just did.

Her focus oscillated from the people to her palm. She wanted to try out the beam again but what she could sense from their emotions told her they really didn't want that.

Il looked at the devastation the beam had caused and felt extremely happy that he had not considered using violence to handle the pitch-black woman. He watched as Mira's gaze shifted from her hand to the people before settling on Woo.

Il gulped as he assumed the consequence. He looked at Woo only to find him looking back at the woman. Guilt filled the boy's expression but a hint of joy hid itself behind it.

Soon after Woo was questioned on what transpired between the both of them and he answered in honesty. The person that questioned him was the woman that had calmed the argument people had about Il's decision. She was not the oldest person but she was the most mature in the camp and so she was the unofficial leader of the camp, her name was Jin Han Wi.

She looked at the expressions of the people. She could sense the terror that had rooted itself in their minds. These powers, this inhuman appearance, this non-human behavior, were all the same qualities that the monsters that ruined human society possessed.

Those who rose above the monsters where less affected but those who hid or submitted to the monsters were deeply traumatized by them. Seeing these qualities presented again would cause the people to lose their humanity, changing them back to survival mode.

Wi could imagine how they would try to abandon Il's family which the pitch-black woman seemed to have grown fond of. They would do anything to be as far away from her as possible. So Wi decided to show the people a different perspective.

"This is good" Wi said, eliciting an array of questioning remarks from the 54 people in the camp.

"Since the woman has powers she can protect us from other monsters" Wi said but the fear of the people was not dispelled. Obviously they knew this; they also knew that the power they pointed at threats could easily become a threat or dictator to them.

WI said "Look at her" pointing toward the pitch-black woman "She is clearly a clueless person. We can teach her to be kind, to protect the weak, to not run away from danger, to respect personal boundaries, to be human. She is basically just a dumber and more powerful version of little Woo here".

The terrifying image of the pitch-black woman changed as the image of Woo with powers occupied the minds of those that accepted Han Wi's words.

HOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mira shot out another beam of purple energy the moment she sensed that the people were less weary of her. Her curiosity had gotten the better of her, she wanted to study this new phenomena.

Sadly her lack of self-control earned her a yelling from one of the humanoids. It was Wi who yelled but she didn't know this. All she knew was that the people didn't like this phenomenon that she could create.

She closed her palms and put her hands down in compliance. The people laughed at this and Mira could sense the weight that had been on them ever since her arrival, slowly reduce.

A woman came from among the people and pulled Mira toward the river. The woman's efforts were unsuccessful but Mira got the point that the woman wanted to move her somewhere so she followed the woman's pull.

Han WI said "Go away guys we're going to give her a bath" as the pitch-black woman was pulled into the river by one of her friends.

A man jovially said "What's there to hide? We've already seen her naked already!"

"Shut up and leave, pervert Bai Mu!" Wi said causing the man to laugh as he walked away with the other men.

The women managed to get the pitch-black woman into removing her clothes. They followed up each example they showed her with words helping her map the relationship between words and action.

With the threat of the pitch-black woman becoming a danger put to the back of their minds, the women realized that the pitch-black woman was very curvaceous and had a comely face. Wi wondered if such endowments came with evolution while looking at her flat body. But she put those thoughts at the back of her mind.

Another overlooked and slightly more important feature was the pitch-black woman's hair. It had tight curls and kinks, which were not features of Korean or East Asian people. It became clear to Han Wi that the pitch-black woman was either not a native or a rare African immigrant.

Still none of these deductions helped Han Wi understand the reason for her lack of knowledge. Wi communicated her findings with the women that were with her, most of them had noticed these incoherencies but couldn't make much sense about their findings.

The women discussed the strangeness of the pitch-black woman and soon generated a nickname for her, Gomjong Sinbi, which meant black mystery. They got her inside her clothes after her bath. After they changed they took her along with them back to the camp.
