Chapter 214: Lies and Compromises

Camille stared at the 5 foot 8 tall humanoid and sighed. The battle had taken a really unexpected turn. Her battle instincts had greatly improved during this fight but it had failed her. Still she knew she had no hope of defeating the newcomer.

The person in question had a black body with tiny lights sparsely shining on its body making the person resemble a humanoid galaxy. The person wore brown long shorts and a green and white hoody. The person floated in the air and the IP's of the people who saw the creature didn't make a single sound.

No information, no context, nothing, the creature just appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the fight. It said with a Nigerian accent "Hi my name is Feisal. Your fight has been going for a while, I'm not too big on peace but this is a bit too much. Is there a way that you guys can resolve this peacefully? I can help, just tell me why you're fighting".

Jade who was posing as a completely different individual looked at the 3 fighters with a concerned expression, he recognized only Gbenga. Gbenga said "Who are you?" with a confused expression. Jade smiled and said "You might know me as Mira's master; Mira told me about you, Gbenga".

Mira on the other had was confused about this 'Feisal' dude calling himself her master but when she thought about it she quickly realized what Jade intended. Gbenga turned to her and Mira said "Feisal, your evolution really changed you!"

Jade looked at the red bunny girl that just spoke to him as if he was her friend and asked "Do I know you?" Mira said "It's me Mira". Jade was extremely shocked as he didn't recognize any part of her fur covered body but when he thought about how he looked currently he understood what had happened.

Jade's eyes widened in surprise, he said "You've changed so much!" Mira said "Speak for yourself. What did you evolve into? A map of the universe?" Jade said "That would be a terrible evolution". Mira tried to use Predator's Prey on him but he wasn't on the list of creatures her IP showed. It was as if the IP didn't think that he existed or as if he was a machine.

Mira said "Is this one of your machines?" Jade said "No, why would you ask that?" Mira said "The IP doesn't say anything about your race, it like you're a machine". Jade had a look of realization as he said "Oh!" He removed the restrictions on the IPs and made himself visible again.

Camille was now more averse to the idea of fighting Feisal. If the IPs considered him that much of a threat she didn't want to try him, especially now that her friends had been captured. Her sanity was coming back to her.

Mira was surprised because of the warning and the fact that her Predator's Prey privilege could not get anything on him even though it could now see his race. Camille said "Feisal, I'm Camille. I'm searching for Jade these people won't let me inside the country to search for him".

Jade looked at Camille and asked "You want revenge?" Camille said "Yes". Jade said "I will help you find him but you have to realize that the world government could not catch him before, I'm not so certain you or anyone will be able to find him". Camille said "I must try at least, I must see for myself that I can't find him, then I will be willing to give up".

Jade looked at Mira and said "Why are you fighting her, are you trying to protect Jade or something?" Only by using a very advanced application of Morphing and with great restraint that no human could replicate, did Mira manage not to get through that sentence without laughing. She said "No", she pointed towards Lara and said "This woman leads one of the settlements; she is the one who didn't want her to enter. We are just the results of her calling in some favors"

Jade nodded and said "So the people that are watching are from their settlements, makes sense…" He had noticed a few spying eyes but didn't speak about them.

Jade turned to Lara and said "I'm preparing for a battle right now and it would be bad if you guys fought each other to death. That is the last thing the human race needs now. I would like to propose a compromise" Jade looked at Camille and said "I advise that you put off your search for Jade for a while. Anyone could be Jade with all the magic, monsters, evolutions and technology that is in this world, hell he could even be dead-". Jade was interrupted by Camille who said "He isn't dead; people have seen him alive after the apocalypse".

Jade looked at Mira and she nodded in affirmation and performed the the inhuman feat of not dying of laughter. Jade continued "That's good and bad to know but at least we have that conclusion so we're not going on a wild goose chase. From what I see of you, investigation is not your forte, you're more of a killing kind. Leave the investigation to other people for now. There will be a world meeting at Hawaii soon, bringing up this issue there will be get you a better result than fighting to enter someone else's territory when they don't want you around. If it is decided that Nigeria would be checked I don't think this woman' he pointed at Lara 'Will be able to do much about it. Heck, Jade might even reveal himself and start killing people during or before the meeting, he is a crazy individual you have to remember that".

Camille sighed and said "Indeed, you're right" She looked at Lara and said "I want my friends back though". Lara nodded and opened a portal from which the Valkyries came out of. Lara said "Thank you" to 'Feisal' and he nodded. Camille and her friends summoned their mounts and rode away from the shore of Lagos.

Jade looked at Mira and said "Long time! We should talk" and opened a black portal which Mira walked through. Jade closed the portal behind him and Lara left the shore with Gbenga who was relieved that the conflict had ended.

Mira looked at the familiar lab for a while before she burst into laughter and said "Who the hell are you? I never knew you were such a good liar, Feisal? Where did you come up with that?" Jade said "Hey, It's a cool name; I'm creating a new persona that I'll use for the rest of my life now. Camille will have to live with the reality that Jade has disappeared into nothingness".

Mira said "She seemed really broken by what you did though, you don't feel any guilt?" Jade said "I always felt guilt for the things I did when I was human… but now, I'm willing to live a new life and put all the guilt behind me. She is broken and so was I too when I killed people but I am whole now… It isn't really a perfect conclusion on my old life but I choose to move forward regardless. If changing my identity and past is what it takes to live a new life then I don't mind it at all; it's a small price to pay".

Mira said "You've really changed huh? Look at you you're the shortest titan in existence" Jade said "I choose to be this size, my normal size is way larger. By the way, why are you a bunny girl now? Was that a race option? I should kill my IP for not giving me a cosplay option. I would have definitely picked it!"

Mira laughed and they proceeded further into the lab.
