Era: Dawn of the New Gods

Concise Synopsis: This is a post-apocalyptic story about the origins of various powerful figures that appeared after the apocalypse event. During the apocalypse monsters appeared possessing powers and constitution beyond the limits of human understanding. They ravaged the world and brought down all governments. The first part of the story follows Jade, a terrorist that was ravaging the world before the monsters arrived. ________________________________________ Dramatic Synopsis: The New Gods, the most feared and revered beings on the planet. They are forces capable of absolute destruction and creation. The Council of Branches Hayley, the Living Lie (if that is her real name) Chao Feng, the Prince of Stars Lara, the Mother of Heroes The Great City of Tver Gog, the Ever Losing War The Unkillable Freak Dave, the Flow Demon Avatari, (only the name is known) Satoshi, the Gentle Hurricane As Impactful as they are no one knew their origin, they are called the New Gods so there must be Old Gods. I and my colleagues dedicated our lives to finding their origins only to find out that the beings we fear and adore were once like us, average, mortal and weak... at least most of them were. ________________________________________ *It is a sort of 'reverse RPG' as no one knows anything either skills, abilities or how the system works but they find out on their own or develop their own skills or abilities. *The story has many protagonists and point of views but it paints a beautiful story of survival in a world of endless perils for both the humans and the monsters (some monsters are protagonists). *There is a system but it is very limited (not overpowered) and it treats everyone equally, monster or human. The system is very different from regular systems; no exp, levels and system items (it has similar concepts but they are not the same). *The story is a world building story where overall, the world is the true main character. Chapter 141: Technological Improvement Montage

Jade taught Aoda, the dwarf blacksmith, aura and psychic technology in exchange for his forging techniques. His techniques were strange to Jade and even seemed magical at first but as Jade and Aoda's understanding increased he found out what was happening.

Aoda's forging technique could give special effects to materials when he forged them into weapons. It was very unscientific but Jade learned that it was just another branch of Aura technology.

Before this Jade thought that Aura was produced by cells so his Aura weapons made use of dead cells of Aura using monsters as material since those cells could produce Aura even when they were dead as long as they were energized. But he soon found out that it existed in all matter. Aura was basically the DNA of existence. Jade and Aoda discovered that Aura of different substances was either a result of their properties or the cause of their properties.

They were leaning more toward the second notion because pure energy from the energy organ was a substance that didn't have aura and it could assume the property of any energy and with magic it could assume the properties of matter.

With the discovery of the nature of Aura the lines between matter and energy blurred as energies like electricity and light had auras all though they were extremely weak. The aura of substances didn't have colors so they could only be sensed by observing the effect they had on psychic energy.

The only thing that didn't have aura was pure energy, heat and force and they didn't know about that since those could also have aura that was so small that they couldn't sense it at all.

Aoda's forging process enhanced the Aura generated by a material and also changed it to fit the object. That allowed him to create the sword that generated gusts of wind when swung. The material for the sword was the claw of a monster that used wind to perform attacks. The material that made the claw wasn't special and couldn't control wind by itself but the history of the claw had changed its aura so when Aoda amplified the aura of the material and turned it to a sword the sword could generate gusts when swung.

The capability of the sword wasn't very identical to the monster that could generate wind slashes but it was the best Aoda could do. The process of aura enhancement involved sensing the aura of the material which Aoda rudimentarily termed 'knowing the material'.

Since aura had an effect on psychic energy it made people's minds feel things. It was through this feeling that Aoda could sense the aura of the materials he forged.

The second step of aura enhancement was flooding the material with pure energy while focusing on the 'feeling of the material' as termed by Aoda. But what he was actually doing was covering the material with energy and turning some of the energy into psychic energy that felt similar to normal psychic energy when affected by the aura.

This process tricked the pure energy and matter into believing that they were producing aura and the material would then combine with the energy that hadn't turned to psychic energy and it would change and permanently produce more aura.

After understanding the workings of the Dwarven forging that Jade now called Aura enhancement. Jade and Aoda could then make even more powerful weapons that produced more aura. But they quickly learnt that there were limits.

As they got more proficient in Aura enhancement they learnt that there was a limit to the amount of aura they could make a material produce. After a certain threshold some materials would straight up explode with aura and shatter. The amount of aura the object produced would return back to the original amount before the enhancement. After that any attempt at aura enhancement would make the material shatter even further.

Aoda focused one finding out the threshold of different types of materials depending on the type of aura they produced and he also experimented with enhancing materials with auras that they didn't naturally produce.

Jade on the other hand focused back on Magic and science as he waited for the results of Aoda's research. Unlike Wind Magic which had 5 basic patterns and Plant Magic which had 12 basic patterns, Blood Magic with its 33 basic patterns was a pain to understand for Jade.

All his experiments at creating new spells ended in failure even though theoretically they should have worked. This caused Jade to reevaluate how Blood Magic worked which took him quite some time.

He eventually found out that Charlotte had poorly named Blood Magic; the appropriate name for the Magic was Bond Magic. Bond Magic could be used for more than just controlling blood although it was great at controlling it. Bond Magic's working principle was the relation a person had with various things and as blood was a sign of danger to humans attack magic made with Bond Magic became Blood Magic.

Bond Magic was extremely dependent on the user and the connections and relations the user had with certain things. Jade for instance could modify his Space spells with Bond Magic and made them more versatile. But that was his limit, Jade didn't naturally have Bond Magic so he didn't really have a bond or a proper relationship with it, it was just knowledge that he paid for.

Jade sent all this information back to Charlotte and focused on other things. The research on Nuclear Fission by Japan was just a bunch of failed attempts but Jade still found them worthwhile since he couldn't expect more. If they had succeeded the planet earth probably wouldn't exist by now.

Jade spent 4 months dedicated to research and now before him stood his greatest creation. It wasn't a weapon or any such thing it was a pod made of green wood, the pod was connected by many transparent pipes that had liquids of various colors in them to the walls of Jade's lab.

The fact that he was slowly losing himself had pushed Jade to make this even though he would never have made such a thing before. It was a Doping Pod. His research into medicine and Plant Magic had birthed this creation.
