Chapter 1: Equivalence system

Looking at the person in the mirror who looks a patient suffering form malnutrition, Amos Redcloud released a soft sigh recalling the events of his life.

He, who used to live like a prince in Redcloud family till he was 10 years old, now almost had to live like a beggar.

Due to his family suffering a misfortune, most of the family members were transferred and scattered across many countries. things were fine in the beginning until the caretaker who was assigning to take care of him was dead under the hands of a beast soon after arriving at Agar city.

After his death, things became even more miserable for Amos. The first problem came in the form of money. As he was still small, most of the money was with the guardian and he only had the 1 million rups(currency) with him.

The second problem was that with the death of the guardian, the secret mode of contact with the family was lost. As a 10 year old kid who grew up in a rich family, losing both money and family took its toll on his psyche.

later, he was adopted by a pair of old parents who lost their son to the same beast tide.

After 3 years of getting through the trauma and adapting to the current life, just when things were starting to go normal, he started having weird dreams and nightmares. he even suspected that he had split personality as he did things he himself never registered. of course, he went to hospital to get treatment, but nothing was registered in the medical reports. soon, things became worse as he started vitality and became thin day by day.

In the end, things became clear to him on his 15th birthday. he suddenly lost consciousness and then he had a very long dream. in the dream, he lived a second life. A life full of vitality, beauty and technology. Though he could only access a part of the memory till he was 22 years old, at least this made him guess that this might be his past life.

It's been an year since the incident and tomorrow is the day of his 16th birthday, a day he had been awaiting since the past year. so that the weird timer that was being displayed since the day of his 15th birthday will end today.

Looking at the time, it will be 12:00 AM in a minute and Amos calmly waited for the counter to return to 0. Soon, the counter came to 0.....

"Ding! Equivalence System is blending with the soul!"

"Ding! Process of binding is completed!"

"Ding! congratulations host for surviving the 2 year long process of binding and becoming the owner of the Equivalence system."

Along with a shard pain that felt made him feeling his brain is exploding, Amos received these messages directly in his mind while he felt that there was an imaginary burden was placed on him.

Soon, he lost consciousness again.

The next morning.

Just as the sun rays started to illuminate the room, Amos slowly regained his consciousness and began to feel his surroundings. soon, he remembered what has happened last night and jumped up excitedly. System!!?

"Ding! yes, host! The Equivalence system is at your service!"

Due to the tough life in this world, the literature is not oriented towards entertainment and there is no culture of light novels in this world. But, in the memories obtained from his other psyche, he basically understood the concept of travelers, reincarnation, rebirth and system.

After sorting out his thoughts, Amos slowly asked "So, what can you do, System? what are your functions? and why did you select me?"

Amos did not know whether to laugh or cry after listening to the system. though mostly happy to get such a golden finger, he couldn't help but suspect the motive behind this. Fine, anyway, he knows his own worth! except for being a member of the Redcloud family, he had nothing to his name. So, without worrying about other things, he decided to be happy and enjoy the sliver of hope for the first time in 5 years!

Seeing his own stats, Amos furrowed his brows and was a bit depressed in this heart. what's with this system!? will it die if it does not mock him?

After hearing the system prompt, Amos was overjoyed and quickly opened his inventory using his mind.

He felt that he had entered a peculiar space which felt like the vaccum in outer space and there he could see a few items wrapped in transparent bubbles which isolated them from the surroundings.

In the first bubble, he could see a cylindrical crystalline vial the size of an index finger filled with transparent green liquid.

In the second bubble, he could see that there was a similar crystalline bottle with nothing inside which puzzled him.

in the third bubble, he could see a thin book floating there, on which the words 'Spirit suction exercise: Volume 1' was written on it.
