Prologue

The sky above the sea was filled with dark and dense clouds,and the sun had lost its usual brilliance.That said,the sea itself seemed quite peaceful.

A brown-haired lad was standing on the front deck of a ship."Shit never ceases to happen,does it?"He thought aloud.

A heated quarrel broke out between him and his parents after he failed the college entrance exam.What's worse,according to the new regulation,each participant would not be allowed to have a second try.Although all those years' enormous effort were in vain,life's still gotta continue.

His uncle Alexander,who owned this little ferry ,was the person he decided to turn to after some consideration.

He never thought he would end up as a sailor."Well,not the worst decision I've ever made,perhaps."He uttered a sigh. He, his uncle as well as another crew member——three of them were on their way to board the passengers across the narrow sea.

Feeling the salty breeze caressing his cheeks,he leaned forward against the fence to get into a more comfortable position.It was then that he noticed something weird——a gray fin on the sea surface,which he's 90 percent sure belonged to a shark.It wasn't long before another one appeared.Those curved fins were moving swiftly past the ship in the same direction.

"What's going on?"Driven by curiosity,this young man squinted into the distance.There was something red on the horizon.Instinctively,he fished the golden monocular field glass his uncle had given him the other day out of his pocket,and looked through it.

There it was——a giant crimson mountain consisting entirely of dismembered and piled human bodies ,with sharks circling around it.The young man was about to throw up,yet the fear prevailed over the sickness.

Almost with no hesitation,he rushed towards the wheelhouse,the only room on the deck,to tell his uncle to contact the coast guard.

However,all of a sudden,this young man completely froze before the door,which had been blown open by wind.The sight was too surreal and horrifying for him to accept.A kidney pierced by the helm,eyeballs rolling slowly on the floor,broken and sticky limbs dropping from the ceiling——flesh and blood were scattered and splashed all over the place,dyeing this tiny room into a living hell.

"Could it be some kind of epidemic that travels tremendously fast through air?"This was the last thought that occurred to this young man before his body swelled and exploded into pieces,violently and abruptly.
