Last Minute Errand

Two people could be seen rushing through the vender street, it could be said that although the city was always busting with business, it was uncommon for people to be full on sprinting down the crowded roadway at any time of day. "Where are we headed"

"There's a weaponsmith near here who consistently sells rune engraved weapons, if we can get in contact with whichever rune master's engraving his weapons we'll be set"

"I see, what are the chances the sect sees through this fake marking? Earlier you made it sound like the people who try often get caught."

"Honestly, I'd say there's next to no chance they find out. If it was a regular tattoo maybe they could spot the difference, but the reason they catch everyone shouldn't be because of how the marking looks, its that they have no evidence they have those powers."

'so that's how it is, obviously the sect could simply disprove it with a request to demonstrate their ability, maybe people could sneak by with some week soul book ability, but what's the point in that?' "and there's no way I should be able to fake the elemental affinity test, thus proving the tattoos legitimacy before they even come in to question, great!"

"exactly. Without a high level rune master examining your tattoos, I don't see it ever getting exposed"

We slowed down and walked towards a small cobblestone shack, with a smokestack rolling large bursts of coal from the roof every so often.

I entered the shop half expecting a dwarf but alas, a normal man with well developed arms and a black beard was sitting near the back heating a peace of metal in a stone furnace. 'Textbook blacksmith hu'

Swords, maces, shields, and some random armor pieces were spread about the shack on tabletops, just a few of each, a reasonable and realistic business.. 'I was expecting…well, fantasy world stuff.'

"Hello! Welcome, Take a look around and let me know if you need anything. I can custom make an item as well if you don't see what you're looking for"

I'll take the lead on this one, fantasy world or otherwise, I got to get used to it sometime.

"excuse me, I'm looking for a rune engraved item, something specific"

"oh?" the blacksmith took interest in that, he rested his work deeper in the coals before making his way over. "I have to make sure you have the finances before I bring anything out, I do have a few here but there quite costly. I hope you don't mind"

"what do you have and how costly are you talking?" 'Crap, I only have 15 red crystals, what did kara say again. How much was a green crystal worth in the sect?'

"I have two upper tier foundation realm weapons and one lower tier ascending realm accessory, 15 green crystals for the weapons and 25 for the accessory."

'…oh yeah, I'm rich baby, one green per month? Pff'

I reached down and got 15 green crystals from my storage pouch, I showed then to mr' blacksmith before putting them back into storage, (made damn sure to hide the fact it was a storage pouch, if Kara barely cared about the red crystals but lost it at the sight of the pouch, I can only guess how valuable it must be)

"Excellent, thanks for the understanding, I'll be right back with the items"

'I know I'll have to ask about the rune master; however, if I look at what he has before requesting something else, I may have a better shot. I'm not sure why but I get the vibe this runemaster wants to stay out of the spotlight'

Before long the blacksmith was back, he had two sheathed swords slung over his left shoulder and a small wooden box in hand. He lay one of the swords on a nearby table along with the box.

"First off is this beauty here!" pulling the sword from the scabbard a delicate looking, paper-thin blade appeared. Green runes lit up along the flat of the blade and air gently coiled around the blade. "this blades been engraved with wind elemental runes, specifically with the purpose of rapid thrusting in mind"

'Now this is what I'm talking about!'

Taking the blade, I Immediately felt the lack of weight, around the weight of a rapier, but with a slightly wider blade. I released my grasp on Kara and took a step to the side. Taking a standard thrusting stance I started pouring qi into the blade and the runes lit up same as before, this time however the coiling wind generated from the runes rapidly increased in speed to the point dust was being kicked up all over the shop, I immediately cut off the qi going to the blade.

"wow, lucks on your side, first I pulled out already matched you're affinity. Guess you'll be wanting that one then?"

"Well, let me take a peek at the others, I'm not in real need of a weapon to be honest, that accessory is catching my interest thou"

"alright" not at all phased at not making the sale, the blacksmith proceeds to pull out the other sword. A short sword with blue engravings on the pommel. The pommel lit and water wrapped around his forearm, with a flick of his wrist the blade shot a few feet from him before the water retracted it back into his grasp. "Have a go with it." handing me the blade I passed it to kara.

"Why don't you try this one out?"

With a quick peck on the cheek Kara grabbed the sword and stepped aside to test it out, a deep blue glow returning to the small shop once again, and similar to my showing before the water was denser in comparison to the blacksmith's demonstration.

'yep his eyes are definitely glowing with dollar signs now…sorry man but I just don't think we'll be needing these weapons'

The sword flying a few feet away from Kara before bounding back into her hand, I ask.

"how's it feal?"

"hmm, Its good, kind of like a water whip spell I use. I just don't know if a sword's a good fit for me. Wrapped wings sect most likely has an ascending rank weapon of similar quality as well"

'oh common man, don't look like that, if we don't need it we don't need it.'

Taking the sword back before moving on to the last peace. "If you weren't satisfied with the sword this might catch your interest. It's the first ascending rank accessory I've ever sold in my store, and it operates based on a similar engravement as that sword"
