Chapter 41: The Circle of Idiots

Leo looked at all the faces in front of him. The cold air from the air conditioner in the office was welcomed. He hadn't gotten any sleep the previous night.

"Pregnant?" he had asked Nelly who had let that piece of information slip. She had tried to deny that she had said that, but after lots of probing she had finally told him. Sammy was pregnant with his child and missing. The people who worked for him had thrown out the woman who was carrying his blood. The woman he cared so much about. None of them had thought about informing him of these developments.

"Where is Samantha Jackson?" he directed the question to the project manager. Mrs. Baines shifted nervously in her chair.

"We had to let her go, your highness. She broke every rule here. Had a relationship with a coworker and got pregnant. An intern who just decided to defy all our warning and company policies is not someone we would wish to keep here, my Prince."
