1 The Junction of Fate

Chen B-Dog woke up from the sickbed vaguely. He was looking at the busy traffic downstairs, Flowers and fruits on the table, and also the clock on the wall which clearly indicated the date. Finally, he accepted the truth.

He had been having the same dreams ever since he was hospitalized two weeks ago. The dream seemed to be so real. The world in the dream was 99.99% similar to his real world but had advanced to Year 2018. In the dream, the box office for China movies was far more excellent than Hollywood's. The new actors and actresses were coming out one after another, billionaire celebrities were everywhere, and the box office was becoming higher and higher. Even the film star, Hu Ge, who was saved by him with the cost of being injured, had regained his popularity.

He had no idea whether his future world would turn out like his dream, but he did not hope so. This was because the future of the world was … one without him.　

In the real world, B-Dog, the son of a farmer who was born in Er Bei, came to Heng Dian three years ago after he graduated from an ordinary art school and took up a temporary acting job. While holding onto the hope of becoming successful, he had been working here for three years.　　

However, he did not own the physical qualification to be famous. He was quite good looking, 1.8 meters tall but had more than 100 kilograms. With his obese figure, he sometimes could get a role of a special supporting actor at Heng Dian, and that brought him some looks of adoration from the other temporary actors.

This time they were shooting a time travel movie, "Legend". He was acting as an honest and fat governor. During the shooting of a war scene, the horse was frightened and ran about wildly. The main lead, Hu Ge fall down from the horse. The shooting team was shocked but there was nothing they could do. Only B-Dog, who was the closest to him, had immediately ran to Hu Ge selflessly and became a protective cushion with his fat body, saving Hu Ge.　　

Hu Ge was safe and sound, but B-Dog had broken three ribs due to the horse’s kick. His brain was also injured and he had a cerebral concussion. He lay on the sickbed for more than half a month.　

It would serve him right to have such misfortune!　　.

When he was newly born, he almost died which led him to this vulgar name.　　

This year was his year of fate. When he was a kid, his mother had brought him to a fortune teller at the temple, who told him that his first year of fate would be a year of misfortune and the second year of fate would be the year of transformation. There would be a major catastrophe that would happen, if he could overcome it then everything would turn positive and peaceful. Great success then would not be impossible.　　

He quite believed in superstitions. This was because when he was twelve years old, he had fallen down from a tree while trying to get bird eggs and that caused his legs to be fractured and crippled for three months. Usually he would remember to wear red color underwear, but that day he could not stand it anymore wearing the same underwear for a whole week, hence he just simply wore a pair of long johns and went out.　　

Without noticing, bloody bad luck had come.　　

Luckily Hu Ge was a righteous man. Even his agency was very appreciative towards Chen B-Dog. They were not only busy paying his medical treatment, the main lead, Hu Ge always visited B-Dog despite his busy shooting schedule.　

It was probably because Hu Ge had met with a car accident a few years ago and this increased his fear towards injuries. He was almost disfigured in that accident. Although it did not stop his path of acting, but he had fallen to the ground from the rising superstar position. He had spent a lot of effort to move on and finally his career had shown some improvement. If he was injured at this point of time, his life as an actor could have ended. After all, his face was facing down towards the ground at that time.　　

Nevertheless, reminiscing had to come to an end. If B-Dog could take this opportunity to fawn over Hu Ge, then he would be prosperous. Even Hu Ge had given his word to hire B-Dog as his personal assistant. The salary would definitely not be less.　　

However, B-Dog was not willing, especially dreaming the same dream for half a month. The dazzling enigma future was far too attractive. Even if he became a useless man, he could not tolerate it if such a future would be devoid of his existence. 　

"B-Dog, wake up!" somebody knocked the door. A handsome man with his female assistant then walked in. It was none other than the superstar Hu Ge.　

His hands were holding a few bags of expensive health supplements.　　

Chen B-Dog smiled and waved to him, "Mr. Superstar, are you so free? Aren’t you shooting? I have told you not to come. It took merely a little effort to give you a hand and anyone would do the same too. Are you going to let me enjoy your gratitude for my whole life? I am not so thick-skinned."　　

"You wish! The movie is ready a wrap, or else I will not have time to visit you. Do you think you are a pretty chick?" Hu Ge mocked, smiled, and tapped his shoulder before looking at him from top to bottom. "Seem like you are recovering. The doctor said just now that you wanted to be discharged. Why don’t you stay here for a little longer?"　

"I’m scared," Chen B-Dog said, "There is a superstar visitor every few days. I am becoming famous in this hospital. Even the dressing nurse is asking for me to get your signature. If you were me, could you stand it?" 　　

The female assistant of Hu Ge, Xiao Lei chuckled, "B-Dog, you’re humble indeed. If I were you, I would just lie down on the sickbed and let the boss serve me every day."　　

Hu Ge stared at her, "You’re such a lazy assistant. Back to topic, B-Dog, regarding the matter I have been discussing with you, what do you think about it? It is not a terrific deal to be my assistant, but I promise not to treat you as subordinate. Let’s be friends. Xiao Lei is a girl, sometimes it is not so convenient. Working with me might not be as amazing as acting, but it is stable. Bluntly speaking, it is rare to be famous in this acting circle."　

Just by saying the name of Chen B-Dog, it gave the feeling of being simple and honest. Additionally, he was willing to make sacrifices to save people. It was more than appropriate to become the assistant.　　

With this promise from Hu Ge, any other person would agree immediately.　

Chen B-Dog looked at him seriously, he shook his head and said, "Thank you for your nice offer, I might look honest, but I could be evil inside. Furthermore, I am not suited to live a steady life. I would like to stay for another year. If I am not successful, then I shall return to my hometown, get married and build a family. That is probably the life I should have."　　

Seeing him so serious, Hu Ge had to stop convincing him. After all, an assistant was a job made serve people. It was pretty embarrassing to ask people to give up their ambitions.　　

He took out a card and handed to Chen B-Dog. "This is my contact information and ten thousand dollars…"　　

Chen B-Dog immediately pushed back without thinking but he was stopped by Hu Ge.　　

"… Don’t be in a rush to reject me. Although it is vulgar, this is a small token of appreciation from me, after all, you have saved my life of acting. If you feel bad, just treat it as a loan. Chen B-Dog hesitated for some time. At last, he accepted it. He had not earned any money these few years. As temporary actors, how prosperous could they be?
