Going to the Capital

When Lucianus said that he wanted twenty-four hours with me, I expected that we were going to bond, having a loving brotherly, sisterly time together.

Expectation vs. Reality

He scolded me half of the day, I gave him a deadpanned look at his lectures even zoning out retreating in the back of my mind, It's as if the spirit of Gabriel and Dad combined possessed him.

I got a break when it was already dinner time, but my break was only five minutes when the food arrived and ate but when we finished, he continued his lectures. The one that broke his lecture streak is Doctor Edgar.

"I think you have lectured the Princess far enough, crowned prince"

Thank You, Doctor Edgar, I owe you one. I silently thanked the man sobbing inside my mind.

"She needs to rest, she will go to the Capital tomorrow after all"

"I never-"

"I don't know who Duke Aether is, but I think Sir. Emile needs to contact them"

Lucianus glared at me, I shrugged nonchalantly I do not want any lectures again or for days on end, I already have experience on lectures on end with Gabriel.

"..."

Gabriel…

The last time we spoke was when he scolded me. I said something to him that upset him too. I can't apologise to him now or the day after like what I used to do.

"Alright, go and rest"

I looked at Lucianus a little surprised, I didn't expect him to let me go.

"The Doctor is right I've kept you for too long and you've just recovered from your illness, It's not good to scold you for the whole day"

"Thanks?"

"Go and get to bed"

"Goodnight"

I went to his room, locking it, I decided to take a shower. I'm genuinely surprised that even though I'm in the Victorian era.

I confirmed it with Lucianus that I am in the Victorian Era in this world.

The bathroom in this place looks like in the modern world, there's a glass divider at the shower room inside not to mention the floor has beautiful tiles,

It has a bidet to wash the bum and the toilet flushes, it also ventilates properly inside, it's strange to think that the bathroom is a modern era rather than a cold stoned bathroom with a wooden bathtub or wooden bucket.

Lucianus told me when we chatted, and he calmed me down after I ran away in confusion, he was the one that proposed the idea of having a modern era bathroom in which uncle approved.

The Modern Era Bathroom is because of Lucianus' proposition to our uncle. He is the man behind it.

"Finally done"

I wrapped the towel on my body and wrap my hair with the spare towel getting out of the shower room and exiting the bathroom

"Meow!"

The lion cub swished its tail from side to side mewing or is it tiny roars? Either way, it's getting noisy.

"What's up?" I asked,

"Merrow!"

"You want to take a bath too?"

"Meow!"

"But I just got out..."

The lion cub started to sulk lying down on its side mewing, even more, I sigh and bathed the little thing, there were a lot of spare towels in his closet for some reason, I dried the little thing after washing it.

"Are you feeling, alright now?"

It licked itself ignoring me. Guess he's all good now.

I dressed in a white night-gown that Lucianus bought for me, now that I think of it I'm broke in this world.

"I guess being rich in another world has its consequences too..." I said to myself "Where am I going to get money here?"

I thought of a few things so that I could make money in this world but then what I've been coming up with is not realistic at all.

"I'll think about it tomorrow then" I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

(The Next Morning)

"Princess, wake up!"

"...What?"

"You need to prepare early so that we can arrive at the capital in three days"

"Huh?"

I squint my eyes focusing on the person who was waking me up. My focus returned, I stared at the white-haired man.

"I'm not dreaming..."

"You aren't your highness, now please go and prepare, your brother bought you nice clothes so that you are presentable to the eye of the public"

"Uh?"

"The maids will assist you"

"What...?"

Just then a flood of ladies entered the room, my sleepy state got startled out of me. They gave a curtsy and rushed towards me.

"Wait, wait what are you guys-"

I suddenly floated out of my bed, I screamed in panic but the ladies looked as if this was a normal thing, the next scene was a nightmare.

They got me on the bathtub, took my clothes off of me, without touching me! I quickly covered my body, my face flushing in embarrassment, they immediately washed me as if I needed a hand or I'm a kid needing assistance.

"I can wash, by myself!

I protested, but they did not flinch or answer me, they just proceeded to touch me! I feel violated! I don't know how to react anymore since protesting or flailing my hands and feet isn't working. I got tired of struggling.

I don't know what they put on the bath water but I feel refreshed and I smell like flowers. After the bath, they dried me and put lotion on me, Lotion and Oil? Am I going to get eaten or something?

"I'm not going to get eaten, right?" I nervously asked the maids didn't answer me as usual.

After the things they put on me they guided me out of the bathroom and sat me in front of a vanity, strange how there's a vanity here when Lucianus is a guy...maybe he has a girlfriend?

"Can someone get the Doctor for me?" One of the maids shook her head

"No, Huh?" I said

They combed my hair while still drying it, not just that, they also helped me get dressed, I can dress by myself, without help, but they refuse to let me move anything, they did all the work…

"You need to have a presentable appearance, your highness" One of the maids finally speaks,

"You cannot be seen by a man even if they are Daeemons when you are in the nude, or not in a good state",

"Um, Lucianus saw me in a not so good state so is the doctor"

"Family members are an exception, The Doctor is professional they would never tell anyone what they've seen"

"Okay?" I said looking at her strangely.

They proceeded to clothe me, the clothes are not T-shirts or baggy pants or shorts it was a dress.

I want to cry, I hate dresses.

The dress is a light blue one with a white accent. It was a conservative one with sleeve ruffles. A blue ribbon on the upper left shoulder accentuated it.

After they dressed me they sat me down again in front of the vanity, they now attempted to tie my hair, I gave an awkward laugh at them.

"A ponytail is fine-"

A maid hushed me, in which I immediately complied, they brushed my hair and began braiding it. I attempt to open my mouth but they hush me. Why must you make an effort?

I cried inside my head, I don't need to look pretty for anyone.

When they finished they let me look in the mirror, my hair got tied up in a Side French Braid, they added a bit of bangs, and they also curled up the loose strands of hair they let fall on the side of my face.

"It's time for make-up your highness"

"Uh...no, no make-up!" I strongly refused.

"But you must-"

"Yes, Yes look presentable I know"

I said annoyed, I don't want make-up and isn't make-up in this world poison? Like what happened to Queen Elizabeth the first?!

"The make-up is poisonous, I know it!"

The maids looked at each other puzzled, they then returned their look at me.

"We would never poison you, your highness if we would ever attempt to do so, the crowned prince will have an immediate public execution and our families will be hunted down"

One of the younger maids said, well you don't know that the make-up is poison so, it will be an accident.

"What's the ingredients of the make-up?" I quickly asked.

"The make-up composition is mostly of flower oils and fruit extracts, it is one hundred percent organic and it will not harm you in any way, your highness"

The older maid spoke and explained, it looks like she's more knowledgeable than the other maids here.

"It doesn't have mercury in it...?"

"No, your highness"

"Mercury is a known word here right?"

"Yes, it is, mercury is a chemical element it is poisonous but it is also useful in a tool such as thermometers"

"I can trust you guys that you won't poison me right?"

"Yes, your highness"

"Alright..." I agreed.

They put on face lotion I guess? I don't know what it is but it smells fruity, I don't have any fruit allergies so every fruit is safe to eat with me or use on me,

The next thing they did is paint my lips with a liquid lipstick, it tasted like strawberry and roses combined.

The packaging of the make-up is simple without any design, the liquid lipstick is in a small circled plastic container.

They let the face lotion settle on my face first drying it before proceeding to put on powder on my face, the powder feels like a normal powder.

It could use a little more refining.

Wait, when did I become a make-up critique? I don't even use make-up as much, although I do put on make-up from time to time…

Laurrie's knowledge of make-up must have rubbed off on me.

The next is the blush on, they put on the blush very lightly on my cheeks. After the finishing touches, they stood behind me and lowered their heads.

"Is that necessary?" I asked them.

They didn't answer me; they still lowered their heads, I would've been amused if this was a movie or role-play but I'm experiencing it in real life.

I shrugged and looked in a mirror, my eyes widened at my image.

"Is this me?" I said in disbelief.

I looked beautiful, the black eye has lightened, thanks to the Doctor's ointment isn't visible at all.

What was the powder they used on me? not just that but I look very fresh.

"Are you done Seraphine?"

"Y-Yeah"

Lucianus stepped inside the room, he inwardly sighed and smiled at me.

"You look exquisite"

"Stop," I said rolling my eyes

"It's true"

He stepped forward and admired me, I stood up at the seat of the vanity, he hugged me, I hugged him in return.

"I already told the Knights to keep a close watch on you, the maids already prepared food for you as well so that you wouldn't get hungry on your way to the capital, the other clothes I bought for you is already loaded in the back of the carriage, and Doctor Edgar will watch your health"

He planned everything carefully…

"The clothes though...is it all dresses?"

"Yes, you need to dress up as a lady in this world, Seraphine"

"I can't wear white dress shirts or pants?"

"No"

But why…

I whined inside my head, he kissed my forehead chuckling. It's not funny, I don't like dresses and I feel the breeze between my legs.

"At least the shoes are flat doll shoes"

"You will need to wear high heels eventually"

"Ugh" I groaned

"Alright, I'll see you off, stay safe, Alright Seraphine?"

"Yes, Sir"

"The moment I'm done I will pick you up and bring you to the Moon Kingdom, that's where I currently live and that's mom's birthplace"

I looked at him intrigued.

"But until then, uncle will let you stay in the Capital and protect you"

"Okay..."

"Shall we?"

He offers me his arm and I accept it, holding on to him, we exit the room, into the hall and down the stairs, people staring at me with curiosity.

We exited the building Sir. Emile, Sir. Raulyn and Sir. Alfonso was waiting for me.

All of them saluted and greeted me in unison.

"May the Blessings of the Sun shine upon you"

I blushed at what they said, Is that a protocol for them to say or something? They don't need to say a greeting like that.

"So another Royal is residing here"

"That's why there are so many Knights that arrived"

"Not to mention that it's the first and second army of the Imperial Knights"

Onlookers whispered, my cheeks flared up, even more, I am a shy person and when I see people staring at me, I get embarrassed.

"The carriage is waiting for you"

Doctor Edgar says coming towards me riding a horse, he fits the prince charming look very well but Lucianus has the more appeal if he rode a horse.

"I wanted to ask Lucianus first, why is there a vanity in your room?" I asked him my curiosity getting the best of me

"A Marchioness owned the building, that room is hers once, she's already dead"

"...Okay," I said, my eyes widening.

"It is time to go, your highness"

"Right, be seeing you brother"

"Be careful-"

Just then a whoosh sound heading towards me is heard,

My eyes widen at the arrow that was at the side of my face inches from kissing it, Lucianus grabbed the arrow that was floating inches from my face snapping it in two.

"How dare someone attacks, my sister, while I'm standing here"

A Knight dragged a man holding a Bow in his hands from an alley, The Knight dragged the man towards my enraged brother.

"Attempt to kill a royal is death" Lucianus sheathed his sword "look away Seraphine" I closed my eyes and did what he said.

The scream of the man rang in my ears, the next noise was silence…

"Get inside the carriage, and be on your way" I looked at Lucianus' hands visibly soiled with blood, and he blocked the view of the dead man.

"Alright" I nod "You be careful too" he's serious face softened

I got inside the carriage, Doctor Edgar closing it.

The carriage started moving, and I seated myself, making myself comfortable. Even though I'm relaxing, I couldn't help but think that I could be dead earlier if it wasn't for Lucianus...or maybe I was the one that stopped the arrow?

Either way, I don't want to die in this place.
