2. A sacrifice Worth making

Have you ever looked at someone with the thought of not seeing them later on? Looking at someone without the courage to say goodbye.. Without the courage to tell them " Be careful" Because you know those words won't work.... And because it was time for them to leave..

Have you ever wondered what it'd be like passing by the road side on a sunny morning which promised to be a good day. And then you look at someone...The first thing you see is the timer on their chest.. Looking at the countdown, Watching as their time went by... Watching as they lived their last 2 minutes of life... Because when the timer would clock down to 0:00:00, They'd be gone...

Have you ever touched someone unknowningly and see as they die in the near future....

Of course no one would have experienced that. It'd be scary, it'd be tormenting. Because you do watch as they die.. Always.

You'd watch as they cross the road but get hit down by a bike or something..and then watch as their time runs out... watch as they take their last breathe. It'd be sad... Right?

You'll not be murder but having seen Hundreds of lives lost for years before your eyes, is more painful than it, And you can't expect to be the same In terms of your life and personality.

"Hey! I'm hungry, let's go grab Ice cream over there!" Lu NaYin Said as she grabbed her friends hands leading her to the Ice cream stand not so far off.

It was as she held her hands, That Wu YiMing Felt a sharp image flash through her mind..

The image of Nayin crossing the road on a night, with her phone in hand was what she saw. And then a car failing out of break had approached and then hit her down.

Wu YiMing saw her friend lying there on the street, bleeding endlessly to her death.

"Mister ! Give us two strawberry flavor ice cream!" Lu NaYin had let go of Wu Ming's hands as they arrived at the ice cream stand. She watched as the jolly looking man prepare the ice cream.

At the moment, Wu Ming wasn't herself anymore! She was looking Shocked and pale with her eyes on NaYin. She couldn't believe what she saw....she had seen..how NaYin would die.

She never imagined that a day like This would ever come, a day where she'd watch her own best and only friend die. Fate was so cruel!

A tear drop escaped her eyes as NaYin looked at her. "Oh, MingMing, why are you crying?" She questioned.

"Oh...no... It's Just... something got into my eyes" She explained, darting her eyes off and around.

"Oh. I see"

NaYin received the ice creams and then handed one to Ming. Then both highschool girls headed on.

If it were you at this situation? How would you feel? How would you react? What would you do? Ming searched for answers but she didn't get any.

She couldn't possibly tell her she would die soon, it's absurd! The previous people she tried telling had called her a weirdo. She didn't know what NaYin would think.

"Okey, Then we part here" NaYin Said as they got to their parting spot "See you tomorrow" She turned to leave.

"NaYin " She called after her friend who turned to look at her with a smile.

"Huh? What's it?" NaYin asked.

YiMing didn't know what to say anymore. She simply said "Take care...."

"Okay, you too. Bye!" NaYin Turned and walked off.

Was this a curse or a special blessing? This was the question Ming always asked herself.

She couldn't say she was herself throughout the day, because she kept thinking about her friend. worries and panicked.

Having a introverted, quiet and shy Personality as a result of her abnormal life, it was really difficult for Ming to cope in her school previously, she had no friends and often bullied by some girls..It was NaYin who stood up for her.

"Next time, if someone picks on you, tell me, I'll smack their faces!" She could recall what the sassy tomboyish NaYin had said back then. They had became good friends since then.

Now, Ming couldn't image loosing her best friend. It would be tragic for her like the moment she lost her parents at the age of 5. She had began living with her widowed aunt who didn't care about her whereabouts.

NaYin was like her mother, taking care of her and always being there for her. She couldn't let her go...

After spending time thinking it through, Ming realized she couldn't let her friend die. If there was nothing she could do..she would consider stopping her death.

Based on her previous experience, she had warmed a girl of her death through an anonymous letter. And the girl had avoided the means of her death, the next day she was found dead through another means.

This meant if she prevented someone from a means, another would pop up. This left Ming with one option. Dying In her place.

Ming left home and came to NaYin's house that night. She stayed outside her house watching the house while she thought about what she was about doing.

Her life was meaningless anyways. All through her life, she had always felt like she didn't exist. She was always in the dark because of her curse ..

And she didn't want this to go on. She didn't want to keep on living such a life... it's better ending it...

She then saw NaYin come out of her house.

"Oh, MingMing, why are you here?" She had asked.

"Well.....I....You, Where are you going?" Ming asked.

"Well... I'm off to buy something.Why? "

"Well let me buy it for you" YiMing said.

"Oh? Why? No no.. it's Okey..."

"I want to. Please" NaYin pleaded. Initially, she was literally saying. Let me die in your place.

NaYin seemed confused by her sudden request "Okey...If you say so. Let's go together"

"No...You wait here. I want to get you a surprise" YiMing said.

"Oh...Okey then. I'll wait" NaYin had given her the money and watched her leave. She smiled "What's up with her today?"

YiMing had a faint smile on her face as she walked off. She stared at the money at her hand with her mind somewhere else. She believed it would end soon...

Soon, she arrived at the road side as she stood there watching as cars passed by. She inhaled deeply and exhaled, Looking ahead.

"Many say...." She said to herself "That death is a punishment given...that it hurts..well right now I think, life hurts more..Life is a punishment as well...It takes years to get pass the punishment of life...But only few minutes to die..How is life better"

She slowly smiled as she took a step into the road...
