Entangled With Darkness

'Hell is empty and all the devils are here.' -- Williams Shakespeare --- "Should I dip my hands in holy water so I can touch you?" His breath fanned her neck as he spoke close to her ear, causing an anxious shiver to run down her spine. Her eyes widened before narrowing slightly. "You are crazy." She whispered back with a shaking voice. "Why?" He asked, awed. His eyes now staring at her. "Because you would get burned." --- Opposites attract. That’s what everyone says, but light and darkness are two very contrasting entities. Annabelle is the perfect definition of pure and innocent, while on the other hand, Kione is the opposite of that—dark and a devil with an angelic appearance. Too forbidden to be a perfect match.

Lurking

The Reigns' butler stared wearily and worriedly at the blood. Kione had not taken even a sip from the glass, and that meant he just had the small amount of blood from that morning sustaining him.

"Should I call the physician immediately?" He asked in a worried tone.

"Why would you want to do that, Merle? Are you sick?" Kione threw the question back at his butler and scrutinized him with his eyes.

"No, sire." Merle said it hesitantly. "Are you feeling well? You have not been taking enough blood lately, and Lady Meredith is concerned for your health." He uttered.

"I am fine, Merle." Kione glanced at the glass and said, "Take it back with you; it is already stale, and I will not be drinking it." The butler quickly obeyed, taking the blood with him as he left Kione's study room.

"Thank you, Mr. Williams." Belle thanked the town's local coachman, whom she was now getting familiar with since her recent movements to the Reigns mansion.
