Chapter 1 Haunted by nightmares
"No! Don't!"
Lena woke up from her nightmare, greeted by the bright sunlight. The room was bathed in light, yet her hair was damp with sweat, and the sheets were soaked. Despite the warmth of the sun, she was still troubled by the nightmare.
"Why is it always this dream?" Lena murmured softly to herself, closing her eyes, trying to calm down. But the man named Grayson, his figure always lingered like a shadow, making it impossible for her to escape. He would occasionally intrude into Lena's dreams. It had been four years since that man disappeared without a trace in the real world, but in Lena's dreams, he became clearer and harder to forget.
She didn't want to recall the past. Slowly, Lena sat up, tidied the sheets, and combed her hair neatly. Standing in front of the mirror, she lightly covered her dark circles with foundation. She wore a smoke-grey shirt with a unique small V-neck design, adding a touch of intellectuality and elegance. Her long legs peeked out from a fitted skirt, exuding mature and charming allure.
Yesterday, after the company's senior management meeting, the director conveyed the order that today, the only son of the chairman was returning to take over Cyber Group, and all employees were required to welcome him at the entrance.
"Lena, why are you dressed the same as usual today?" Lena's assistant, Lucy, said.
"What's different today from usual?"
"Of course, it's different today, it's the first day of the new CEO!"
"Look, those female colleagues over there are all dressed up, with heavy makeup and short skirts…"
"I heard the new CEO is a hot and wealthy eligible bachelor, handsome, tall, and rich… Lena, why don't you dress up a bit and leave an impression on the CEO!"

"The CEO is here!" Someone excitedly shouted.
A luxurious black Maserati stopped at the entrance, eliciting a chorus of admiration. The vice president quickly approached, opened the car door, and a man in a silver suit stepped out of the car.
Lena stared at him intently. The man was tall and exuded an unparalleled charm and aura with each step. His black leather shoes made crisp sounds on the ground.
At that moment, he looked up, his black eyes revealing a cold and proud expression. The perfect contours of his profile outlined his dominance and aloofness.
Lena's heart couldn't help but pound. She hadn't expected to meet Grayson again at this moment, the man who had left a deep impression on her heart. Although Grayson appeared cold on the outside, his authority and dominance were unmatched.
She lightly bit her lip, her eyes flickering with curiosity and anticipation for the unknown, but also with a hint of nervousness. Lena never thought she would encounter the sunny boy who had accompanied her through four years of college in such a situation.
Lena had always fantasized about a reunion, perhaps on a street corner in the city, locking eyes and saying, "Long time no see!" Or perhaps in a foreign land, turning around, and coincidentally, he was also looking at her! But she never expected such a reunion.
