4 Once Again, Goodbye World

Evie couldn't figure out what he was thinking, if that was a positive or negative thing, because his face was void of emotions when he said that.

But his emerald green eyes were twinkling like stars in a dark night. His distance was just a few feet away, so he could see him better now.

'He was more beautiful up close. Am I really in Paradise?' her mouth almost dropped just by staring at him. She shook her head so she could concentrate on the situation.

'It couldn't be. Magical lands, paradise, etc. are not real. This is not Micronesia. But Edin? I have never heard about it before. And why don't they have tourists here? Is this a private property? Or is everything a fake?'

She was getting dizzy thinking about these things, making her almost fall down on the ground. Fortunately, King Adamos caught her in time.

However, as he touched her, an unusual thing happened. It felt like electricity bolted through her from him, making her jerk back in surprise, bringing her back to reality.

It seemed like it also happened to him as he instantly distanced himself away and pointed back his scepter at her.

"That wasn't me," Evie immediately responded, as she straightened herself.

"Then what is it?" King Adamos' jaw clenched as he seemed tense again.

As much as she wanted to answer his question, she didn't know how, too. 'Maybe it's a static current because I am a foreigner in their territory. But if I were to say that, I would emphasize that I was a bizarre phenomenon in their kingdom again.'

She didn't know if it was a good thing. But as they were in that position, both of them heard scuffling feet approaching them.

Evie immediately turned around, being nearer to them than King Adamos was. Her breathing quickened as she saw creatures looking like soldiers wearing thick tunics, iron goblets, and arm splints with a helmet to protect their heads.

But there was something odd about them.

They have koala-like ears sticking out of their helmets and their faces have whiskers.

Evie recalled the picture effect in a phone app that her colleagues were using during video calls, which she was not a fan of.

Now, they were pointing their spears at Evie, ready to throw them at King Adamos' command. "At your orders, your Majesty," they shouted in unison.

Evie's fists ball up as the weird situations happen one after the other.

Strange land. Naked King. Cloth leaves. And koala soldiers. She shook her head as she tried to get her thoughts straight.

'So these soldiers could be proof that this Jungle Man is the real deal. He could have personally owned the wind machines, which must have a feature where natural elements could stick to human bodies, having transient magnetic fields. Now I have just electrocuted him with static current -'

As she thought about it, her head hung low while she heaved out a sigh. She knew enough that any sign of attack against a King is punishable by death, whether it's intentional or not.

"Once again, goodbye world," Evie mumbled in defeat as she closed her eyes, accepting her death for the second time.

King Adamos must have heard her as he drew near her, startling Evie, and whispered in her ear. "And say your greetings to your new world."

He walked in front of her. His already broad shoulders squared up all the more as if he was using himself as a human shield to protect her. Then his chiseled chin thrust out as he gave his command, "She is coming with me. Search the area for anything suspicious and report to me."

The soldiers obliged as they immediately withdrew their weapons and bowed down before him, shouting in a loud voice, "Your grace is immeasurable, Your Majesty!"
