Enkidu heard from Gil the moment they got back from visiting the gulf. Enkidu was still helping Siduri with management. It seems that they had run into this time's fake Enkidu.
Gil finally remembered where his tablet of destinies was placed as he ordered them "Go and retrieve the tablet of destinies in Kutha!"
Enkidu left while he turned around to Gil one more time "Isn't that were Ishtar governs?" Gil nodded before he gave a thumbs up "Go give her hell from me." Enkidu nodded as he left.
Merlin was explaining the situation about Kurtha and needless to say Enkidu was not happy.
"After the three goddess alliance was formed we lost contact with Kutha."
"All communications were lost."
"When Leonidas' party rushed there they found a quiet cityscape devoid of life. No blood and no signs of combat as if they all died in their sleep."
"Everyone within one whole city."
Enkidu's eyes widened as he clenched his fist hard enough to draw blood. Kiyohime quickly wrapped a bandage across his hand and started calming him down. Sherlock was already trying to figure out what had happened.
"Kurtha is now a cursed land where no one goes."
They finally arrived at a meadow grassy area with multiple holes everywhere. They spotted people trying to free their sheep from one of the holes. Enkidu needed to know what happened as he asked the farmer "What happened? Is it a storm or lightning?" The farmer shook his head as he spoke one name that provoked Enkidu "No it was goddess Ishtar."
A great burst of mana spread around the area knocking the group back while lightning crackled everywhere around Enkidu. His rage for that goddess was already immense and know THIS COMES TO HIS ATTENTION?!
What came next slightly calmed him down as Kiyohime and Sherlock where trying to reason with him "This year's goddess Ishtar is a big mess."
"She blows up everything demonic beasts and all."
"Thanks to her the land looks like this."
"And then after that she took every last gem we had and ran away while saying "I'll let you off with this."
Hearing this Sherlock and Kiyohime simply let Enkidu rage honestly if the goddess was like that then she might as well disappear and no one would care. Why not just let their master get rid of that sorry excuse of a goddess?
Enkidu simply calmed down as all semblance of rage disappeared as he turned around when Mash and Fujimaru spoke his thoughts "She's like a burglar" "If she's anything of a deity-" Enkidu turned around and looked at them "You understand me as well?"
Merlin chuckled "If she was in her original form she probably wouldn't do that."
"Right before demonic beasts appeared the priestesses of Uruk held a ritual to get a human girl possessed by the goddess Ishtar. Then that got them the Ishtar you know."
"In the first place the gods of Mesopotamia all have blonde hair. I'm sure she has black hair due to the elements in the girl."
They kept walking all the way until the sun started to set. Merlin announced their destination.
"There it is, the city of Kutha."
Enkidu spread his presence detection only to find nothing no living humans were there nor were there demonic beasts.
A call from Romani woke Enkidu from his thoughts.
"The demonic beasts seem scared to enter the place. Though we have no idea why."
Sherlock spoke his hypothesis "Ishtar?"
Merlin decided it was unsafe to enter the city at night without knowing what was going on. "Let's camp here tonight."
They explored the city in the day while Enkidu remembered all the times he had visited the areas of Uruk as he thought "If I was an arrogant 2/3rds god and 1/3rd human where would I put my tablet of destinies? Meh he probably threw it some place random."
They eventually got a call that Fujimaru had lost contact with Romani. Enkidu spread his senses as he located him immediately. He ran over there in a flash before looking at him. He had one suspicion only for Fujimaru to wake up and confirm it.
He had been to the underworld.
"All is well in the underworld huh?"
Enkidu shouted at them through their communications right before Romani could call it out. His precognition showed him images of everyone being injured from magic blasts. "Get away!" In the sky a few lights blared up as they dodged just in time.
"I found you!"
"I heard you grilled the ranchers about me. Snooping about what a goddess does is so insensitive."
Even more amusement bloomed onto Enkidu's face as he heard that Ishtar was here.
"Oh is the broken trash here as well?"
"heheh Hahaha. Oh my a goddess being reduced to a gem thief. Anyways yes Enkidu is here as well."
Merlin looked at Ishtar before she responded "Saving you guys for free would just corrupt you guys again."
Sherlock finished inputting and spoke his output "So you would've saved them for free?"
Ishtar had been caught "Drats. A-anyways you all need divine punishment I'll take that in your hands as punishment."
A small laughter was heard from behind Ishtar "I found you." Ishtar turned around to see green eyes full of madness. The group spoke his name as they saw him "Enkidu." Ishtar blocked the first blow only to having to dodge a blade coming for her neck from the ground.
Kiyohime quickly released flames from her fan as Ishtar dodged them and targeted Mash first knocking her shield away before smashing her into the buildings.
Merlin quickly released a beam of magic from his sword after Ishtar headed to attack Fujimaru. She quickly dodged before floating into the sky after dodging Ana's scythe.
"Oy come down here and fight fairly!" Merlin shouted at her while Kiyohime looked at her with disgust and whispered "Whore."
Ishtar chuckled and laughed "I'm not going to give up my advantage."
A streak of green came into her side vision as it went behind her.
"You mean your non existent dignity? Cause as far as I'm aware the only advantage you had was your shamelessness."
