Life [Part 4]

History will no longer be history if history changes. History is something absolute because history is something in the past.

However, I do not like the history of this world.

Joe Walker returned the spoon in his right hand back to its original place.

Let history remain history.

Joe Walker began to walk towards one of the rooms in the house. He wanted to see the bookshelf that caught his interest.

Unfortunately, the bookshelf was full of dust, and some books were damaged with small holes penetrating through them. It looked like bullet holes that pierced the books.

Joe Walker looked to the side and found that the wall of the room was damaged. It seemed that in the past, there was an explosion that caused a large hole in the wall of the room.

He looked back at the bookshelf carefully and found the red book he was looking for.

Ah... That's the book...

He started to touch the red book as he wanted to take it. Suddenly, there were strange whispers that made his head hurt. He had to hold his head with both hands because of the unbearable pain.

"Mom, bye bye! I want to go on an adventure with eliza!"

"Yes, have a safe journey, my dear."

"Eliza, please take care of your little sister, mom and dad cannot leave from here. Take this blueprint with you, don't let anyone else get it!"

"Yumi, listen to your sister, okay?"

All those voices were quickly whispered to Joe Walker in a short time. Strangely, he could remember the entire conversation clearly.

Joe Walker's facial expression now looked very shocked by what had happened to him at that moment.

Joe Walker looked back at the red book in front of him. He was still curious about the red book. He took it and hoped that something he saw earlier could happen.

As he wished, the floor around him began to descend along with the bookshelf. However, as the bookshelf moved downward, he saw nothing but darkness around him and the bookshelf and the floor of the room.

Wow, it's exactly like what I saw back then.

He began to investigate and look inside the bookshelf where the red book was previously placed. He found a small red button inside.

"Wow!" Joe Walker felt amazed.

He returned the book to its original place, and the bookshelf along with the floor began to move back up.

"This is amazing! Maria would be happy to see this!"

Joe Walker took the red book again to make the bookshelf go back down.

For now, I'm curious about what's down there.

Not long after, he reached the bottom where the bookshelf had taken him.

But what Joe Walker saw down there confused him.

"What is this?" He said with a puzzled expression.

However, Joe Walker chose to continue exploring the place.

As time passed, morning had arrived. The sun began to show itself. The fresh morning breeze calmed the atmosphere. Unfortunately, in that city, there were no other humans besides Joe Walker, Maria, and Alice.

Alice began to wake up from her peaceful sleep and found Maria biting her left hand.

"Eat, eat, salty food!" Maria mumbled in her sleep.

Annoyed, Alice immediately slapped Alice's cheek to release her hand.

Maria, feeling the pain, did not wake up but continued to sleep and mumble.

Alice got up from her bed, put on her headgear again, and went outside the house. She looked around and was surprised not to find Joe Walker anywhere.

"Where's Joe?"

Alice decided to check their belongings first before continuing their journey.

"Ugh... It seems this food stock won't last more than 2 months. Who chose to store cookies in here? It must be Maria's doing! No wonder this food box quickly fills up!" She said while looking at the box containing their food stock.

While she was still upset, suddenly Joe Walker came from behind and startled her.
