Chapter eleven

    As they walked past the hallways, even Cassandra joined in on asking Ariana to remove her scarf.

" Please Ari, please" Cassandra begged.

" Fine" she finally gave in. " But you promise not to laugh"

" We promise" they both chorused.

Ariana removed her scarf and they were dazzled.

" Wow" that was Cassandra. " Your hair fits you perfectly.

" Where did you get your hair done? I'll like to go there" Beatrice said.

" You like it?" Ariana was surprised.

" Of course we do and here we where thinking you had cut your hair" Cassandra said.

Ariana's hair was now straightened. It was white with pink at the tip. She looked real gorgeous.

" Thank you" she said. " Come on, let's go hear what the principal has to say"

As Ariana walked down the hallway, she received tons of compliments regarding her new hairstyle. Now she was sad, she'd gotten into a fight with Max because she felt he'd made her look dumb. She was so occupied in her thoughts that she bumped into Max.

" Can't you watch where you go?" Raymond was yelling.

" What's your problem" Ariana yelled back.

" Still sworn enemies" Casey thought.

" You bumped into me and instead of saying sorry, you're arguing" Raymond said angrily.

" I won't because if you had been watching your steps, we'd not have bumped each other" Ariana said.

" Sorry. I'm apologizing on the behalf of Ariana, I'm sorry" Beatrice apologized.

" You don't have to Beatrice, let's go" Ariana said and they left.

" For the past few days, we've had the Case of the missing lunch. We've tried every single method possible to bring the culprit to book but it wasn't possible so after much deliberation from the school board, we've decided to let the students handle this themselves" the principal said. " After a lot of contemplation, we chose two students we felt were up and doing. Well students of Merother high school, were proud to announce to you that the first student handling this case is Ariana Wilson".

A lot of students cheered as Ariana made her way to the podium.

" Thanks sir" Ariana said as she stood beside him.

" I didn't know Ariana was gonna be nominated" Beatrice said.

" I'm happy for her" Casey said.

" I wish I got nominated" Beatrice said as if jealous.

" Are you upset Ariana got chosen?" Cassandra asked.

" I'm not upset. I just feel I'm more deserving than she is to handle this case" Beatrice said folding her hands.

"That's what you think Beatrice but I don't think so. I just think Ariana is the best choice" Cassandra said.

" It was pointless talking to you. I'm leaving" Beatrice said and left.

" Where'd Ariana even find such a friend?" Casey thought aloud. " So much jealousy. Hmmmm, I don't think she's deserving of Ariana"

" Well, after muh deliberation, we have chosen....." Mr Shawn, the principal was interrupted by a phone call

" Hi Mr Anthony" he took a while on the call but after about fifteen minutes, he was done.

" Sorry about that" he apologized. " Well, after much deliberation, we have chosen Raymond Styles as Ariana's partner, which means they're both gonna work hand in hand to bring the culprit to book" he said and everyone cheered.
