Chapter 24 - Leveling the Young Master Way
Trevon went from the family pavilion. He had some duties anyway.
[Does it count as a family mission?] He thought. He would need to find a reason to punch a kid and to force a merchant to give him an orange. If they were considered as a family mission, he would receive some rewards after completing. He didn't know what rewards he would receive from completing this kind of mission.
[At most it would some copper coins, perhaps.] He thought. He couldn't hope for the family to give him some rewards.
[I will need to check my mission first.] He used Quest Mode Using skill.
[They are all still the same.] He hadn't completed any destiny quests. [How about Job Quest?]
[I wished I could get stronger like Qing Shui, by joining. That is a fun way to cultivate.] He thought before using the Job Quest Mode Using skill. [What is this name?] He felt embarrassed to use the skill.
"That would help me with the word count." Master Rabbink said. It intentionally made the name as long as possible. Trevon would use these skills often and he would give many bonus words counts for Master Rabbinks.
Trevon saw some panels on his vision.

He saw 2 new job quests. I will get a new mission after completing the previous ones. He accepted those missions.

"You can remove a quest you don't want." Master Rabbink said. It was his duty to tell Trevon this thing.
[How do you do that?] He asked Master Rabbink. He knew Master Rabbink could hear him.
"Well. Just pay a 1.000 core energy to change a mission into a new one. Very cheap!"
[I need to change the dragon one.] Trevon thought. [How do I pay?]
"Just open the quest mode that you want to remove! You will need to focus on the quest you want to remove, and said 'Remove' in your heart."
Trevon used the Quest Mode Using skill and focused on the frightening dragon killing mission.
[Remove.] He said in his heart.
[Do you want to remove Lv 100 Mission: Kill a dragon in the Poison Marsh for 1.000 core energy?]
[Yes. Really, Really Yes.] Trevon answered.
[Mission Removed.]
Trevon checked the quest mode again.
[Lv 0 Mission: Finding reason to punch a little kid!]

[Eh? What is the last mission? Loading?] He wondered.
"That was a cooldown after you removed a mission, you need to wait for 100 hours before you can find new missions." Master Rabbink explained. "Just focus on doing some easy mission first. That dragon was just a tutorial for removing missions. Gwahahaha."
"You! Return my 1.000 core energy." He lost 1.000 core energy just to change the Dragon mission. That was 1 spirit stone less for his dream harem.
"It was the cost for the tutorial. Non-refundable. Read the contract!" Master Rabbink ran away to the sky.
[F*CK that contract!] Another trap from the contract. "Hmph..." Trevon snorted.
"I will reduce the cooldown then." Master Rabbink felt he needed to give some bonus.
"..."
[Young Master was in a very bad mood.] Jerry knew this. Too many problems happened the last 2 days.
"Let's look for an orange merchant! Show me the way, Jonathan!" Trevon knew Jonathan was a local.
"Yes, Master." Trevon was not a young master for Jonathan since he was directly under Trevon command. He led the way and walked to a western direction.
Jonathan was a young man with a bulky body. He looked a bit handsome, the strong and masculine type of handsome unlike the beautiful type of Trevon. He could be said that he was very famous in his neighborhood.
"This is the area where there were numerous fruit stores, young master." Jonathan explained to Trevon.
"Good." Trevon quickly found a store which sells orange. "I want that orange."
"Yes." Jerry went to the store. He bought some oranges for Trevon.
"STOP!" Trevon screamed. He saw Jerry about to pay the orange.
"What's the matter, Young Master?" Jerry asked.
"I want that orange not buying oranges." Trevon said.
[???] Jerry was confused. From the facial expression, even Jack and Jonathan were confused. Trevon was a rich young master. [Why doesn't young master want to buy? Does he want to rob for an orange?]
"You! He pointed to the fat merchant. Give me an orange!" He ordered.
"Who are you?" The merchant was angry. He was a merchant with a legal permit to open a store. Not everybody could bully him. He used his big body to scare this annoying kid.
"Tell him, Jerry!" Trevon said.
"He is Young Master Trevon McArthur." Jerry said. He had done this part many times.
"..." The merchant turned pale. He knew the famous McArthur family.
"Yes... Yes... Yes... I will give it to you, Young Master." The merchant was afraid. He had heard the most notorious young master from Bluestar. Trevon was very famous as famous as his family. The merchant picked numerous fruits and gave it to Trevon.
"This... I am sorry for not recognizing Young Master. It is my pleasure to give this to you." [Consider this, my bad day.] He thought.
Trevon accepted the fruits. [This should do it, Right?]
[Why there aren't any message?]
"It is because you took more than what the quest ordered." The Rabbink answered.
"Jerry, return this! I want that ONE orange!" Trevon pointed to an orange.
"This..." Jerry was confused. He returned the orange.
[What's wrong?] The merchant was also confused. [He wants a single orange?] He took one to Trevon.
The merchant was very afraid. [Is this the way a young master looking to trouble other? At least 1 orange was cheaper than the bucket of fruit before.]

Trevon used the skill again. There was a new mission.

[Are you serious?] Trevon saw Master Rabbink.
"I want that ONE banana!" Trevon pointed to a banana.
[This time a banana?] The merchant was very confused and afraid. [Does he want to make a trouble to me? Did I steal your women? This is the first time we meet. Why does he give me this much trouble?]
He gave a banana to Trevon. Trevon took it.

He used the skill again. [Not again.] He thought.

"I want that ONE avocado!" Trevon pointed to a banana.
The merchant was frustrated. [I definitely had offended this young master somehow.] He gave an avocado to Trevon.

[Don't tell me!] Trevon used the same Quest Mode Using skills. He believed he could reach mastery soon if there were more levels in the skill.

[F*CK!!!] Trevon really screamed in his heart.
"What is wrong? Fruits are good for health. To be a God you need to be healthy. Gwahahaha." Master Rabbink laughed.
"What is this young master?" The merchant already prepared.
"I want that one durian." Trevon was dispirited.
[I was who got troubled, why does it seem to annoy you more?] The merchant took the durian.

He used the skill again. Trevon felt hopeless. This was rotated. All fruit types in the store were taken by 1.

[What is this? I have completed it. I didn't choose to repeat a quest.] Trevon complained to Master Rabbink.
"Why do you have the angry face? It is normal that a quest is repeated. If it was automatically repeated, you get a full reward. Isn't it great? This Rabbink is too kind."
[I will go to the bottom of this. This is 1 gold per fruit.] Trevon reminded himself.
Trevon just pointed to an orange. The merchant was already prepared. He quickly took the orange and gave it to Trevon. Trevon then pointed to another fruit. This kept being repeated for 3 hours. Half of the fruits in the store were already given.
Trevon pointed to another fruit. [Eh? Where is the merchant?] Trevon wondered.
The merchant was too tired. He was running here and there in his store. He fainted. Before he fainted, the last thing he thought was the young master wanted to kill him by making him running around his own store. It was not easy for someone that fat to run around in his store for 3 hours non-stop.
"Let's change the store!" Trevon moved to another store.
"Young Master!" Jerry called Trevon.
"What about these fruits?" Jerry asked.
"Er..." Trevon saw the mountain of fruits behind Jack and Jerry.
[I think this is too much.] "Return it to the merchant!" Trevon couldn't eat all those fruits. It was impossible.
[What? Is young master playing prank?] Jerry thought. Almost the same thought was on the mind of Jack and Jonathan.
[What time is it?] Trevon looked to the sky. [I am better to find a crystal fox first.] "I want to go to the beast market, right now!"
"Eh?" Jack, Jerry, and Jonathan felt this young master was too unpredictable. [He has robbed a fruit store and returned the fruit. He has decided to go to another store, but canceled it to the beast market. Don't tell me he wants to rob a demon beast store?] They looked at each other.
[I can continue this tomorrow. Crystal Fox is more important to my harem dream.] Trevon thought. This was an easy destiny energy. Unlike absorbing spirit stones, he could just point and he would absorb 1/1000 of a spirit stone. [This cultivation technique is really suitable for a young master like me. While he was talking with Master Rabbink, the party walked into the Beast Market. The place was a famous location in Redwood. It was near the northern gate of Redwood City, which was the closest gate to the Redwood Forest. Being close to the Redwood Forest, Redwood Beast Market was one of the top beast markets in Heavenly Phoenix country.
The Beast Market was a very large building. It consisted of over 1.000 shops. Each shop was 5.000 meters square large. This building was one of the largest in the city. The building actually wasn't a building. It was a very huge canopy covered over 5 million square meters of the location. The walls of each shop were very high at 20 meters. It prevented the beast inside to run into the residences.
"Buy Here! I have the cutest Rabbink in the Redwood. Baby Fire Rabbit also available!" A merchant marketed his product.
Lots of people came to purchase demon beasts. Even non-cultivators could raise a demon beast, which was already tamed. It was the easiest way for common people to gain power. Of course, there was a limit, too powerful demon beast wouldn't follow a weak master.
"This is a tamed Jade Rabbit! It came from outside Heavenly Phoenix. It is a very beautiful gift for your wife, girlfriend, or concubines!" Another merchant offered a cute green rabbit. Such a tamed beast meant that that beast wouldn't attack human and would obey human's orders
Most stores kept rabbinks inside. It was very popular with kids. It was also not dangerous to non-cultivator. The best was their reproduction capability. It was very quick, faster than normal chicken. You could even use them as carnivore's foods. Powerful demon beast only ate other demon beasts meat, therefore there was a necessity to keep some rabbinks around.
[Don't you care about those rabbinks?] Trevon asked.
"Me? I am different from those rabbinks. I am a God Rabbink, NOT a common rabbink." Master Rabbink felt insulted.
"Look! A common rabbink could mutate into a Soldier Rabbink, a General Rabbink, a Minister Rabbink, an Emperor Rabbink, an Immortal Rabbink, a Divine Rabbink, before finally turned into me, a God Rabbink." Master Rabbink explained.
"Between me and the common rabbink, it was like your God and an ant. Does a God care about every small ant in this vast universe? No. There is already destiny for each creature. For something we change, we need to pay something. I am not a God of every rabbink, I am a God Rabbink."
[So, you are not a God?] Trevon was confused.
"God Rabbink is a species like you, human and golden elves. I am a God. The only God of Destiny in the endless universes. I can control all creatures by changing their destiny. Gwahahaha. Now, do you want to kowtow to me?" Master Rabbink materialized a hand who pointed bellow.
"Never." Trevon forgot to talk inside his heart.
"What is never, Young Master?" Jerry felt perhaps their young master started to turn into a crazy person. [I need to report this to Elder Charles].
"Nothing. Let's buy some demon beasts. I am looking for a crystal fox." Trevon said.
"What is a crystal fox, Young Master?" Jerry was confused. He had never heard of crystal fox. Fox type demon beast was very rare, but he hadn't heard about this crystal fox.
[How does it look?] Trevon asked Master Rabbink.
"You are really looking for a crystal fox?" Master Rabbink was surprised. "You can't find it here in your country. Crystal Fox is a very rare demon beast. They live in the deep forest in few parts of the universe."
[Is there no crystal fox in this country?] Trevon asked. He was surprised. He didn't think it would be this hard to find a crystal fox.
"Do you think it was easy for any beasts to turn into a demon?" Master Rabbink complained. "I am already at the over maximum Level, but I still can't turn into a demon."
"There are crystal foxes on this planet of yours." Master Rabbink said. "I can't tell you the location, but those foxes might not be able to turn into a demon fox."
Trevon wanted to cry. Those beautiful foxes were very far from him.
"Do not give up! Some other demons are beautiful. Other foxes were also beautiful but they won't be as wonderful as a crystal fox in your human eye." It said.
[Yeah! Let's find other foxes.] Trevon felt better. [If I can't get a star, I could settle for a moon, HwehweHwe.]
"Forget it! Crystal Fox is a rare creature." Trevon said. "Let's us visit the store one by one." He wanted to find another fox with the potential to become a demon.
[There is definitely something wrong with Young Master.] Jerry was sure about it. His young master was silent for a long time. Yet he had his facial expression changed multiple times, from surprised, sad, into happy. [Definitely strange!]
"Come! Come! There is a new beast here!" One of the merchants called the visitors. People started to gather in his store.
"Look at this wild Red Moon Leopard!" He exclaimed. There was a wild demon beast in a cage. From the condition, people knew that it was defeated in a fierce battle. There were numerous wounds of its body. However, its color was different. Normal moon leopard had a red color, like most demon beasts in the Redwood Forest. The word moon came from the white half-moon pattern all around its body.
"I would say this is a mutated Moon Leopard! The buyer could name the beast and be famous around the world." The merchant marketed his product.
It was a common rule in the world, that the first founder of a new species could give the name to the creature. There was an organization who managed the naming of the demon beast. Its name was the Society of Demon Beast Hunter.
The Society of Demon Beast Hunter was the foremost knowledge of Demon Beasts in cultivator world. They received any hunters into their organization, without any boundary of a country and any political movement. Its local branch was a location to gather any demon beast hunters in a region. There was usually a branch in a large city. Since the organization consisted of numerous hunters, they could gather a lot of information about the demon beast. The duty to register a new species of demon beast also fell into their responsibility.
As long as one didn't name the demon beast too strangely, one could use their naming. There would be no worry about a beast called Boary McBoarface. It wouldn't be accepted. One also couldn't use a duplicate name.
The organization then would conduct some test for the beast, to check the attack pattern and its ability. Unlike cultivators, demon beasts had their innate abilities. The higher ranked a demon beast, the more innate abilities they could unlock from their genes. In some sense, Trevon's skills from Master Rabbink was closer to a demon beast's ability rather than to cultivators' martial arts. This was especially since he didn't need to practice the skill. On the other hand, Trevon needed to use it to increase the skill level.
The information about demon beasts was recorded by the Society of Demon Beast Hunter. It would be useful to prevent injury to its hunter members in the future. The information also contained numerous valuable parts of the demon beast to prevent a loss of natural treasures. Sometimes they included public knowledge of the demon beast weakness and habit.
This information was compiled into a book. They issued an encyclopedia called Encyclopedia of Demon Beast every year. There was a local version which often carried by local hunters, a continental version, and finally the world version, where only the peak powerful family could purchase. Other than information about demon beasts, the organization also gathered information about natural treasures that a hunter might find in a certain region, like spirit materials, spirit herbs, and many more.
"How much is the price?" One of the wealthy customers asked.
"200 spirit stones." The merchant asked.
"That is too expensive." Another customer shouted. Normally a good Moon Leopard was just 20 spirit stones. It was just a common Primary Rank 1 Demon Beast anyway. This price was 10 times higher, it was very expensive even if it was a mutated demon beast.
"Just don't buy if you are poor!" The selling merchant complained. "What I sell is not a demon beast, but also the path to becoming famous."
"That is too expensive."
"I want that Leopard, Father."
"What is the use of being famous?"
"Let's go to the Redwood forest! I heard there was lots of mutated demon beast sighted."
There were numerous chatters. People discussed the mutated demon beast.
"I have a mutated demon beast too!" Another merchant screamed. He just got the demon beast today. He took a cage that contained a small bird. "This is a mutated Magma Canary." He declared.
"What is with the numerous mutation?" The people asked each other.
"I heard it was because of the meteor that fell into the forest last week." A person spoke the rumor. People weren't stupid. They realized the only big event in Redwood other than hostage situation was this meteor.
"Look! The canary is different from the usual magma canary. It gave a metal feeling." One of the customers here realized the difference.
"Yes, this canary now could produce copper. This is a walking copper mine." The merchant proudly marketed his product. "I will sell this canary for 50 spirit stones." He declared.
"No way! How many coppers could this canary produce copper in its lifetime?" A person complained.
"It is not about the canary, it is about the new species." The merchant defended his price.
"This declaration of new demon beast is absurd. We need to check it before." A customer realized something. When a new species demon beast appeared, people needed to check it with the organization before since it might be a duplicate.
"Yes, we can go to the Society of Demon Beast Hunter to check whether it was a new species or not." Another customer answered.
"..." The merchant didn't dare to market his demon beast anymore. There was a possibility a mutation had been found in other locations. The world was big. There would be a new species of demon beast found every day. Nobody could guarantee it was a new species.
"I am definitely sure this was the first time this species found at Heavenly Phoenix." Being a demon beast merchant, he had some knowledge of the demon beast in his country at last. "I can refund all your money if it wasn't the first time seen in our country." The veteran merchant changed his marketing gimmick.
[Does this mutation have something to do with you, Master Rabbink?] Trevon asked.
"Of course, it does. Using the radiation of the meteorite core, I changed the destiny of nearby Demon Beasts." Master Rabbink felt proud. Only someone at its level could easily do this.
"For a cultivator, this mutation was called God's Blessing. I gave a blessing to nearby Demon Beasts when the meteorite arrived, The Creator's Blessing. The arrival of my meteorite is a big chance for every creature. Cultivators even could become a God. So, something should be given to those demon beasts. Gwahahaha." Master Rabbink laughed.
"There had been 3 beasts who turned into a demon because of my blessing, added with the old king. I can't wait to see who managed to be the new king in this area."
Trevon was scared by the last statement. This Rabbink created destruction. Indirectly, this Rabbink killed the previous user of the ring. Most likely, It would kill him also. Whenever a new beast king appeared in Redwood Forest, it would send a multitude of beasts to attack Redwood City. It was a show of power from the new king, to ensure the human didn't dare to venture too deep into the forest.
[F*CK! I can imagine the next warning from Troublemeter would be.] Trevon cursed to the Rabbink in his heart.
"It won't be that long." The Rabbink didn't deny the possibility, which meant it had predicted the waves. "Just increase your Destiny Path, increase your Job, increase your Universe Core. You can survive. Gwahahaha."
[I should prepare to run away using the universe at the last minute.] Trevon had prepared his last resort. As a cultivator, he couldn't run away from the battle or he would be rejected from Redwood. If he ran, he couldn't call himself cultivator. Perhaps he wouldn't able to find a wife in the future. Who would want to marry their daughter to a coward?
"It is not that easy! You can't enter your universe during a battle. A battle would create a chaotic spiritual energy in the air. It would prevent you from transferring using Core Management skill." Master Rabbink said. "The previous user also had tried to run into his universe as his last resort, but he failed. It would be a too big cheat if you could run away from any battle using the skill. If you had become a God, yes, you can. But as apprentice God, you can't open the skill without a stable environment."
Trevon really wanted to strangle this Rabbink. It created a very big problem for him.
