Chapter 79: Mr. Sato's Murder Case 4

"*ehem* Seiya-kun and Miwako-kun, what brings you guys in my office?"

"We are here for a search warrant, I believe I have found new evidences about the Sorrow Case."

Seiya showed the pictures and doubts of the documents to Superintendent Matsumoto as Seiya glanced at Sayuri Matsumoto for a split second before focusing at Superintendent Matsumoto. Miwako Sato who is friend with Sayuri immediately greeted her as she said.

"Sayuri, why are you here?"

"Hello, Miwako. I'm actually here because my father is so "busy" that he doesn't have time in helping me select a wedding dress!"

Sayuri Matsumoto gave Superintendent Matsumoto a glance as she slowly said the word "Busy". Superintendent Matsumoto coughs as he tried to avoid her stare. He then check the papers of the Sorrow Case as he felt the new doubts and new evidence seems like a major breakthrough and because Mr. Sato is one of his good old friends, he immediately gave Seiya a search warrant with his signature on it as he wants the murderers of his old friend to pay for their crime.

Seiya happily took the search warrant as Miwako left with him, while they were waiting on the elevator. They met Inspector Shiratori and Police officer Takagi on their way down, Miwako asked.

"Did something happened?"

"Yes, one of our traffic enforcer found a trace of the arsonist in Shinjuku." -Inspector Shiratori

"We are heading there, to see if we could catch that serial arsonist." -Takagi

"I see, good luck~" -Miwako

Inspector Shiratori and Police officer Takagi seem to feel their heart feel fluffy as they got encourage by their police flower. They seem to ignore the presence of Seiya as Miwako's new outfit was attracting them, it didn't take long before the elevator opened and Inspector Shiratori led Takagi onto his car. Seiya led Miwako to her car as he said.

"I think I know the second accomplice or the person who escape when your father tried to grab him."

"Who?!"

Miwako grabbed Seiya's arm as he could feel her very excited and agitated. Seiya said gently while releasing the relaxing aura that his body could release.

"calm down, I still have to check the bank for an assurance."

"okay..."

Miwako seem to noticed the ambiguos position they were in, she let go of his arm as she sat on the passenger seat of Seiya's car. Seiya begin driving his car toward the Bank that was in the case, while driving. Seiya continue to talk about the information Miwako has given.

"Miwako, remember the words written by your father?"

"Yes, The Ka.N.O....I still don't know what it means!"

"Well, I think that your father might have found a clue in the bank before he knew that one of the robber was his friend."

"I see...."

"Ka.N.O isn't a three syllables but rather it was a nickname given to someone when your father used to play baseball. If I remember correctly the Mr. Shuji has the nickname of...."

"Kano...."

Miwako interrupted and continued his statement as her mind seem to be enlightened, she finally knew why her father's best friend went away at that time and only returned within a few years. Miwako's feeling were filled with sadness and anger as she thought.

'Why? Why kill my father?!'

Seiya didn't know that his statement started the blackening process of Miwako as he wonder if there are still remaining evidence in the bank. It didn't take long before they got inside the bank, Miyano Akemi who was a bank teller immediately saw Seiya while she was counting money. She thought.

'Why is he here?'

Seiya seem to notice her gaze as he waive his hand before walking towards the manager table, the female manager immediately noticed the handsome Seiya and his partner Miwako who seem to be in a daze. She asked with a smile.

"Hello, How may I help you?"

"Well, I'm here with a search warrant about an old case a few years ago. May I ask if your bank still kept the records and books about that incident?"

Seiya handed out his search warrant while showing his badge as he said this statement. The female manager read the warrant, after reading it. She said to Seiya.

"I see, please come with me to the storage room. If I remember correctly we do keep our books of the money serial numbers and a few CCTV video tapes of the incident."

Seiya pulled Miwako by her hand as he noticed she was still in a daze, Seiya whispered.

"Miwako, are you alright?"

"Uh, sorry I was just thinking about it."

"I see, let's see if we can find more informations."

The female manager swipe her I.D onto the security scan as it opened the locked metal door. She opened the door as Seiya and Miwako saw a room filled with metal cabinets and a T.V with a VCR or Video Cassette Recorder that can play a Video Cassette. The female manager went to the side and opened the metal cabinet with the tag named Incidents. She took out a Video Cassette and a small book that listed down the serial numbers of the money and a few paper bills that was left behind from the crime scene. She said while handing out the evidences.

"Here are the evidences, do you need help in using a VCR?'

"No, thank you~ We will call you when we need help."

Miwako spoke before Seiya could even began as she noticed the female manager was hitting on Seiya, the female manager seem to notice the hostility of Miwako but she ignored it as she gave Seiya a wink before leaving the room. Seiya played the VCR as he watched the CCTV recording, it was much useful because there were more content, meanwhile Miwako was reading the book that contains the serial numbers of the missing paper bills while also the paper bills that remain behind when the robbery took place. Miyano Akemi who took a bathroom break immediately went to the female manager as she asked about Seiya and Miwako. The female manager seem to be have an enlightened look as she said with a teasing look.

"Has Hirota-chan fallen in love with that handsome guy?"

"Maybe~"

Miyano Akemi blushes as the female manager immediately said why the two came inside. After that she went back to her chair as she sigh in relief. She previously thought her undercover was blown as her mind were filled on the reasons why Seiya approached her. She cough as she thought.

'Seiya wouldn't do that, he is nice guy. If he knew that I will rob this bank, maybe... *Miyano shake her head*'

She didn't want to think about it as she continue her job. Seiya and Miwako finished finding the right evidences as they walk out of the room, Seiya asked.

"Do you want to ask them why? If I remember correctly there should still be a day or two before the case expire."

"Yes, I want to know why, they did it! Lets go to Mr. Kano's restaurant. I believe they should still be there. "

Seiya nodded as he remembered that they should still be drinking. Seiya drove his car as Miwako guided where the restaurant location is. It was a perfect timing because only Mr. Kano and Mr. Sawatari was left in the restaurant as they drank fine wine. They were both silent as it if they were mourning for a friend. Miwako and Seiya entered the scene without police backup as Mr. Kano saw them, he said with his cheek still blushing from drinking wine.

"Oh? Miwa-chan what are you doing here?"

"Isn't it your 50th birthday? I invited my friend and brought a gift if you don't mind."

"No no, I don't mind. come sit down~ "

Mr. Kano smiled as he motioned them to sit, while Mr. Sawatari was silent not knowing what he was thinking. Seiya could tell Mr. Sawatari's heartbeat was so fast as if he was panicking and thinking what he was about to do, Miwako Sato handed over the gift which was a bottle of wine that came from a shop. Mr. Kano look at the brand and saw it was a 1910 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvigon which is a famous wine. Mr. Kano seem to like drinking today as he took out a few more wine glasses as he opened up the gift and poured it on everyone's wine glass. He said while hiccuping once.

"*Hiccup* Let's drink as we celebrate my 50th birthday!"

"Drink up~"

Miwako spoke before drinking that glass of wine, her cheek were already blushing because the alcohol content is a bit high. But this didn't stop her in continuing her next statement. Miwako spoke in a hoarse voice.

"Although it is your 50th birthday, what you were really celebrating about was the expiration of my father's case...Isn't that right? Mr. KANO!"

Mr. Kano who was drunk immediately became sober as he said with his eyes were a bit gloomy.

"That's not very nice to treat me as your father's murderer at my 50th birthday."

"You see, in that cctv record that remains in the bank's storage room. We can see how the murderer of the security guard used the shotgun as a baseball bat to kill him, it was a standard baseball hitting action that seems to remind me of a recorded baseball game that I have watch when I was a kid and if I remember correctly that ace baseball player's name was Mr. Shuji Kano."

Shuji Kano was silent as Miwako Sato continued to speak in a more angry yet helpless tone.

"Why did you kill my father?!"

"I *bang!*"

Shuji Kano was about to speak, but then he was shot in the chest at a point blank distance, It was Mr. Sawatari who was beside him that shot Mr Kano. He then pointed the gun at Miwako as he said with a gloomy tone.

"Don't move or I really shoot you."

"Mr. Sawatari, the accomplice of the robbery that happened before Mr. Sato's murder. Tell me what part do you have from the murder of Mr. Sato?"

Seiya seem to hypnotize Mr. Sawatari to compel the truth about the incident as he spoke nervously about what happened that day. He still didn't let go of his gun even though he didn't know that he was being hypnotize using basic eye movement and very small body movement.

"It was raining that day! When your father knew that Kano was the robber, he persuaded him to surrender. I was afraid that Kano would confess so the day, they went to the police station. I was waiting in the street for an opportunity, I just didn't expect Kano wanted to die as he walks in front of a moving truck! Sato saved him. But because they were still close to the moving truck. I ran and pushed him in front of it!"

Miwako closed her eyes as she seem to see the incident happening in front of her eyes. She couldn't help but clench her fists as her tears were flowing away. Mr. Sawatari didn't know why but he felt so agitated that he suddenly pulled the trigger. Miwako opened her eyes only to see Seiya in front of her when she heard the gun shot, while Seiya at this time was having the moment similar to when Barry Allen moved faster than a bullet. His thought at this time while positioning his body in a good angle

'Come on, Seiya! Don't be a bitch. It's just a bullet! Take it like a man! You got shot once by a sniper when you were a kid!'

If he was a normal human being then his action can be classified as very stupid since this action would hurt him a lot, but luckily he is not a normal human being, he can already be called Superman! So he still ended up doing it for a few reason. First he will gain Miwako's affection, second is the same as the first one. He really didn't know why he would do such a stupid action, maybe because he was influenced by Mamako when she was telling stories about heroes saving the princess or was it because he was a doctor and he didn't want to see anymore patients after doing multiple surgeries in one week. Miwako immediately took out her revolver as she shot Sawatari in the hand before continuing shooting him in the chest as her mind were filled with anger and rage. Sawatari instantly drops dead as Miwako immediately went to Seiya as she tried to use her hands to put pressure where the bullet she thought went in, she said while crying.

"Seiya! Don't close your eyes! Wake up!"

"*cough* I'm not dying!"

Seiya accidentally cough as he said this statement since wine makes his throat a bit dry, Miwako paled as her minds were filled with Seiya bleeding to death. But in reality, Seiya was really not dying because he was wearing a bullet proof shirt so Seiya moved Miwako's hand away as he said.

"I'm really not dying! I wore a bullet proof shirt! Look the bullet is on the ground!"

Seiya is not that stupid, as he already learned his lesson when he was a kid. He was already traumatize enough to the point he always customized his shirts for a bullet proof ones. Miwako sigh in relief as she saw Seiya showing her the bullet that he got from the ground. She smiled as she thanked god in her mind for this miracle. She hugged Seiya before talking.

"Thank you! Thank you for solving my father's case~"

It took a second before Seiya noticed Miwako passed out from too much pressure as the event that just happened was really exciting and crazy for her. He sigh as he reached inside his pocket and took out the audio recorder. He turned it off as he successfully recorded the truth of what really happened in the case. Seiya called Inspector Megure for backup as he truthfully said what happened, he has to admit that he felt better knowing the truth of the case, he wondered if this is how Conan felt when he finished solving a case. He shrugged of his thought as he moved toward an empty seat while placing the sleeping Miwako beside him. He didn't forget to grab the bottle of 1910 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvigon because it was pricey, he didn't want to waste it so Seiya drank it while waiting for the police to come.
