Chapter-1

Adjusting to the sunlight Yi Hua opened her half open, half closed deep, dark, brown eyes.

She sat up, yawning, after checking the time. It was half past eight o'clock. "It's Sunday. Finally, I'm free. Let's get started on my novel today,'' she said. The first thing she did was brushing her teeth and cleaning her face. For breakfast, she placed an order for some cakes. Chocolate cakes are a blessing for a stressing week.

The previous week had been frantic, and the entire month had been huge due to the ongoing 2nd year finals. Projects, assessments, vivas, and written exams were all being submitted at a breakneck pace. All of it is now behind, leaving only the mechanical exam. She was good with mechanics; therefore, she would pass even if she didn't study. Studying environmental engineering in University of Queensland was somewhat hard.

This year flew by faster than anticipated. She came back to her personal apartment yesterday and totally dozed off for more than 16 hours without eating anything.

Yi Hua sat down and began writing the manuscript for the final planned chapter.

If you ever considered thinking of asking yourself ''Engineer as well as a Novelist?'' Is such thing even possible? Don't engineers look like they lack romantic brain cells? Technically it's kind of true. "We just get busy with our planned courses and at the end of our studies, we graduate from the university with an emotionless brain. When we join working field, we became complete robots. ''

Yi Hua's parents settled in Brisbane after they got married, later she was born. She couldn't decide what she wanted to aim after finishing high school, her parents suggested she pursue engineering sector as both of her parents were electrical engineers. So she decided a little different and choose Environmental. She made the decision to contribute to the fight against climate change. But she is a natural mathematician, and the theoretical aspects of the course were relatively difficult for her to grasp.

Yi Hua's mother is Korean and her father is Chinese, hence she is of mixed ancestry. But, because she was born in Sydney on May 5, 2005, she is an Australian citizen by birth. This year of snake, 2025, she will turn 20.

She barely had the space to roam around since her parents were busy flourishing the business. She only traveled back to China once, for a week, when her grandmother was sick. Her grandparents liked her very much at first sight and became close to her. They accepted Yi Hua as their granddaughter, but they refused to acknowledge her parents' marriage.

Her father, Wang Jie, met her mother, Hyo Yuri, at a Japanese event. For a few years, they maintained in touch in secret. Hyo Yuri's parents wanted their daughter to marry, so when she told her parents about Wang Jie, they were adamantly opposed to the relationship. Yuri left her home and went to China. Wang Jie brought Yuri to meet his parents, but they didn't appear to be on board with the marriage either. As a result, her father and mother both left the house. For a while, they lived in rented apartments. The age difference between Xiao Jie and Yuri was only one year. So they both sought for scholarships in Australia and were accepted into the same master's program. Their visas were provided and they walked away without looking back.

They married in Australia, and Jie and Yuri set aside some money to invest in real estate and farming. They now have their own farms and a large number of properties. Lao kai, Yi Hua's brother, is in charge of the family business alongside their father. Yuri largely stayed at home after giving birth to Kai in 2002, thus after finishing her master's degree, she became a housewife and later gave birth to Yi Hua.

Kai was homeschooled since he didn't like to speak much, yet he was a genius. He began assisting his father when he was 16 years old and, after completing a dual degree in real estate and business administration, took over the entire company last year at the age of 22. Kai, in general, was both attractive and intelligent. If he weren't so introverted, he'd probably be a womanizer. The girls were chasing him like a cat and mouse game at times, but he was able to shut them down. Bravo!

Yi Hua, on the other hand, was a big fan of sports as a kid, particularly figure skating. However, their financial status at the time was insufficient to provide for both of them. Their business began to pick up momentum in the last 6-7 years.

Yi Hua couldn't decide what she wanted to pursue, so she sat with a crumpled heart and watched people perform and practice figure skating. She became aimless as a result of the trauma. But, believing that their parents only wanted the best for her, she stayed at home and studied diligently. Around this time, she began writing short stories in which she depicted things she had always wanted to do but had never been able to achieve. Yi's writing skills developed towards a better direction while trying to express herself through words.

Like her brother Hua was also very unique as well as beautiful. As kids Hua and Kai only had each other so they are super close to each other. Having mixed parents gave both of them a shout for beauty so whenever they went out together, people couldn't stop staring. Sometimes people misjudged them as boyfriend-girlfriend. So they stopped going outside altogether and played some sports inside their house like 5 year olds.

Kai supported Hua when she said she wanted to live by herself and arranged everything for her to move freely.

The first year went well, and she adjusted well enough that she began writing a new novel in her spare time. She has been working on it for about two years. She merely wanted to write down the idea she had in her head; typically, it wouldn't take much to bring a story to a conclusion, but she merged portions of stories she had written as a child and placed them together. She couldn't wait to complete it and read it herself because it was almost done.

Living alone wasn't that bad. Mostly she stayed at university dorm with her 2 best friends, Chanel and Yuki .

Chanel was native from New Zealand and Yuki was from Japan.

Occasionally, every month Hua would go back home to spend time with family. Rest of the break times she continued to arrange her novel and travelled around for better perspectives and inspiration.

When the doorbell rang while she was writing, she exclaimed, "The cakes are finally here!" and dashed towards the door, dropping her pencil in the process. The doorbell rang once again.

The doorbell rang once again. She yelled loudly, "Coming," as she knelt down, placed her pencil on the desk, and slowly walked to the door, not wanting to make another mistake.

When she opened the door, she was greeted with a pleasant surprise.
