Chapter 53

Sebastian looked to his left with emotion less eyes and slashed down a kreuz solider that tried to kill him. His uniform was covered with blood and his black blade was now a crimson shade. The teen saw 10 high lever kreuz soldiers grinning at him their weapons were raised.

He took out the golden horns and equipped them. His eyes glowed golden for a second and in a flash, he was behind the soldiers as they slowly looked at him only for their heads to roll of their bodies.

Sebastian released a sigh while looking at his hands that was covered with blood and without any thought about it, he wiped the blood of on his clothes.

He was about to de equip the horns when the danger sense blared in his ears and he quickly dodged to the right. Where he just stood was a man that appeared to be 19 years old male. He had the kreuz uniform on and the officer hat hung at his hip. His hair color was a light beige color and it was cut short while being spiked up. One of his eyes was purple while the other one was brow. In his hand was a green and blue katana that glowed softly.

???: Black hair with white stripes, marron eyes, yup you got to be the guy.

Sebastian: Do I know you?

???: Uhm no I don't think so but Kreig did tell us about the guy named Sebastian that almost beat his ass.

???: Your quite famous in the Kreuzfarer officer talks. Not only did you go against Krieg which is one our strongest members you also injured him badly.

Sebastian: And let me guess you want to try and fight me see what all the hype about is correct?

???: Correct my name is Ace Mes.

The man suddenly lunged at Sebastian and swung his katana in a side way arc when Sebastian jumped with all his power in the air dodging the attack.

Sebastian: I need to put away the horns, I don't want to be too tired in this fight to early.

So, he quickly de equipped the horns and while falling down back to the ground he took out 12 throwing knives 6 in each hand and with all his might he flung them down towards Ace. Aces eyes widened and he quickly jumped out the way. A string of explosions rung out on the battle field which caused the ground to shake. Through the smoke from the explosion Sebastian lunged at Ace his sword glowing white.

Sebastian: [Monsheiet Streik]!

Ace: [Erdschlitz {Earth Cutting Slash}]!

Aces katana glowed bright green and when the two skills clashed against each other they caused a massive explosion to drown out the smaller explosions of the war. Once the dust settled it showed Sebastian with a cut against his chest were as Ace also got one. The beige haired teen roared and lunged at Sebastian. The two were seen as blurs fighting at high speeds. Sebastian quickly used a skill.

Sebastian: [Cloud Clone]!

3 clones appeared next to Sebastian and they all went into a sword stance.

Ace had a big grin on his face as he pulled a spear in his left hand and his katana in his left.

Ace: Ohh I can see why Krieg almost died your ridiculously strong Sebastian.

The clones lunged at Ace who lunged at them a clash happened when their weapons hit each other's.

Sebastian: Don't feel bad if you die by my hands may you rest in peace after words...

His eyes glowed bright marron as his emotionless eyes stared straight into Ace's soul.

At another part of the battle field Junak quickly dodged to the right while Enkidu appeared in front of the boy and sent a punch towards the kreuz solider blasting the now dead corpes far away from them.

Emily: Junak you alright!?

He looked to his right and saw Emily was holding her shield up and Mr Bear was killing any enemies that got to close to them.

Junak: Yeah that hit just surprised me that's all!

Emily: Watch out!

Time seemed to slow down as a person got through Enkidu and Mr bear, the person was holding their sword up which had a white glow, the kid gritted his teeth and brought his knives up blocking the strike but an explosion happened when the weapons came in contact with one another.

When the explosion dialed down it showed the attacker had a knife in the head as their once angry eyes were now glossed over and they fell to the floor. Junak was panting hard as a sword stuck out of his right side of his chest as the arm was hanging limply.

The girl gasped and rushed over to the kid as she caught him right before he fell on the floor.

Junak: Dammit i can still go on he panted softly.

Emily: Shut up I'm taking you to the temporary Medical hut.

She called Mr bear over and he picked up the two kids as Enkidu cleared a path for them. They soon arrived at the medical hut which was littered with Squad 5 members running around healing soldiers that are crying out in anguish. Sapphire noticed Mr bear and she immediately sprinted over and started to heal Junak who was gritting his teeth.

Emily: Is he going to be alright?

Sapphire: Yeah good thing you came quickly.

Just as they were going to carry on talking a kreuz solider ran in the medical area and tried to kill the injured soldiers only for Enkidu and Mr bear to punch the body at the same time causing an explosion of blood and guts to splatter on the floor.

Junak: Ill protect the injured ok?

He panted softly and sat up and flinched a bit when he stood up slowly standing next to Enkidu that nodded at him.

At sunset May and Rose were back to back killing Kreuz soldiers that tried to kill them.

Rose: Dammit when is this going to end?

May: I know I'm busy running out of arrows and its turning dark.

Rose quickly cut down 4 soldiers that made a wall and behind them she suddenly stopped causing May to bump into her.

May: What why did you stop?

She looked over Rose's shoulder causing her eyes to widen as she held a hand over her mouth. What they were looking at was a scene out of a nightmare. There layed the dead corpses of Lucy, Adam, John, Shizo and Leah butchered.

A person was holding Hawk by the head as he was barely breathing, the person appeared to be a 19 year old man that was unnaturally tall, his officer hat hung at his hips, he had long black hair that reached his hips and covering his mouth and nose was a white mask that had 3 boar tusks coming out pointing downwards. The man had jet black irises that held no emotion that unnerved the hell out of the two friends.

???: Oh it seems that I have more people bothering me.

Rose: WHO ARE YOU she shouted.

???: Angst Schrei at your service.

The man looked over his shoulder at the two girls and crushed Hawk's head quickly causing blood to drip from his hand as the body went limp.

May enraged at this bastard killing her friends she roared and activated a skill.

May: [Boar Hunter]!

Her arrow glowed green and it sailed through the air Angst black eyes looked at the incoming arrow and simply raised his one arm and back handed the arrow away causing an explosion nearby to happen.

Angst: Is that the best you got?

He looked to his left and saw Rose right next to him her axe glowing yellow.

Rose: [Chasm Creator]!

The skill landed against the man's side causing a massive explosion to occur, when the light settled down it showed Rose having an iron spear straight through her stomach making her look down shocked only to seconds later vomit out blood.

She shakily looked up to see Angst perfectly fine he looked down straight into Rose's eyes as if those black orbs are staring straight into her soul.

Angst: Don't worry this will be over quickly.

A green arrow suddenly popped up in front of his face and blasted him backwards abit. Rose looked over shakily and saw May ran next to her and looked at her worry in her eyes.

May: Rose are you alright?!

May noticed that the once strong and proud girl wasn't their anymore but a scared terrified girl took her place.

Rose: May you have to get back... we have to run away he will kill us all!

Were ever she looked was Angst black emotionless orbs assaulting her mind.

The girl screamed afraid out of her mind.

Angst: You should listen to her girl...

May looked over and saw that Angst was perfectly fine except for his clothes to be burnt here and there.

May: What did you do to her! She is never this scared!

Angst: Maybe she just realized that you all are trying to climb a wall that is unclimbable, maybe she just feels fear...

May looked Angst in the eyes when she noticed that she also started to shake her pupils widening.

Angst: It seems you also hold fear in your heart allow me to help you.

The man started to slowly walk towards the girls taking out a bloodied iron spear.

May: I can't move!

She thought panicked

May: I have to protect Rose; I have to protect my family I won't ever lose them again!

Angst: Tell me girl you just thought "I have to protect my family" correct?

May looked with wide eyes at the man slowly approaching her.

Angst: Look around you does this world deserve protecting anymore? Where in the past foolish ideas such as hope, love and kindness governed all the inhabitants of this floating rock everything has changed. Even the darkest of hearts have a small speck of light that shine through the abyss, but what about the pure and white hearts do they just not have any darkness inside them? No those are the ones that only have the facade of being pure when in reality they will just dry you up as if they were a leach.

May: Stop it why are you telling me this?!

Angst: You are that Leach you pretend you want to save your so-called family when in reality you are just using them for protection and comfort when all hope is lost.

May: LIES! she shouted.

Angst: Is it really? Why only on this garden of wilted flowers and blood-soaked soil do you wish to save them then when in reality you want to run away as far as your legs can carry you?

May: Because... I'm afraid she said in a shaking tone.

Angst: Exactly! That is the one emotion that has been with humanity for eons! Light hearts and Dark hearts both of have fear inside of them. But is it shameful to wish for your own safety over others? No, its basic human instinct self-preservation is written in our DNA.

May: IT IS WRONG I WANT TO SAVE THEM NOT MYSELF!

Angst: Now who is the one that is lying.

May looked down at the ground and thought very hard on what the man said. Is it true am I really only a leach? Her mind slowly sank into the darkness when suddenly a bright light broke her out of it. Images about everyone smiling and being around each other, they are truly happy with one another.

The girl suddenly roared and took an arrow out of her quiver and brought it full force down on her thigh stabbing herself causing her to cry out in pain. This caused Angst to stop walking and look at the girl.

May: I may be a leach and everything you said maybe true but there is no way in hell I'm am I ever losing my family again ever they are my light in the ever-growing darkness!

Her voice was breaking between the words as the pain was really intense.

Angst: Foolish girl just sink further in the fear accept it.

The new found conviction of May allowed her to unlock the skill again as she pulled back the string, the arrow that was pulled back grew to giant size as it gained all the colors of the rainbow.

May: [Zeus Titan Slayer]!!!!!!!!!!

May: NOW DIEEE!

She let go of the arrow and the force behind it blasted her backwards, as the arrow sailed through the air Angst eye widened for a second before it impacted on him causing a massive explosion to happen blinding everyone.

When it settled down it showed Rose holding her stab wound and she frantically looked around for May noticing the fallen girl lying on her back. As she ran over, she suddenly felt a chill down her spin and slowly she looked behind her, to see Angst was standing their looming over her, his clothes had been burnt off showing his pale skin without any injuries.

Angst: Now that was quiet the skill but I'm bored...

He put the spears point on Rose back.

Angst: [Banquet of Thorns]

The spear multiplied causing 6 irons spears to be stabbed through Roses body making her scream out in pain and fall over.

With half opened eyes she looked at her fallen friend as Angst walked over to her.

Rose: No..please body stand up she muttered to herself.

The pain she was experiencing was worse than anything she's got before, but she couldn't let May die she protected her and is one of her closest friends!

Rose: I said don't hurt her!

Angst slowly turned to her his black eyes seeming spinning as if an empty void of darkness was attempting to swallow her up as they stared the girl down.

Angst: Will you shut up as least the young one stood up to me,what did you do?

He stabbed her shoulder making her cry out in pain.

A sudden gust of wind was felt as Rose entered her Berserk mode and roared shaking the ground she suddenly jumped in the air and held her axe out.

Rose: [Grow]!

The axe grew to a tremendous size causing the clouds to part ways.

Rose: You die now Angst!

Rose: [E for Extinction]!!!

The blade moved towards the ground. Angst simply turned to face it and held his hand out. When the blade made contact with the ground a deafening explosion happened making a small mushroom cloud formed. After it settled down it showed Rose shaking her very pupil shook as there in front of her was Angst blocking the giant axe with 2 fingers.

Rose: Impossible...

Her eyes suddenly went white as she passed out the pain from the injuries and mana deficiency caught up to her.

Angst: That's one down time for the other.

As he turned around, he saw a glowing arrow right in front of him, there stood May with a burnt right arm pointing the arrow right at Angst.

May: [Apollos Fury]!

The skill shot into Angst blasting him a few feet back. May looked up only to feel the same despair Rose felt as she saw Angst was uninjured.

May: Are you immortal?...

Angst: I guess I could tell you my skill.

Angst: It is called [Fear is the devils Play thing]

Angst: If my enemy fears me none of their attacks or skills injury me...

May: No way you're lying!

Angst: Believe me or not that's up to you but...

He gripped the spear in his right hand tight and wound his arm back words, his veins suddenly protruded as his muscle was flexed.

Angst: You can think of it in the after life

Angst: [Titan Impaler]

He with a huff threw the spear towards May as it sailed past her going through multiple people behind her and thunderous crashing could be heard. May slowly looked behind and saw a giant grove in the ground behind her bodies layed everywhere, while she slowly looked down she saw her entire right arm was off blood spluttering and pouring out of the now open wound.

The girl screamed out in pain and tried to stop the bleeding the pain was unbearable. She with one open eye saw Angst in front of her his spear tip pointing towards her stomach.

Angst: [Banquet of Thorns]

The spear multiplied and stabbed the girl causing her to vomit out blood as she was pinned to the floor from the spears, her eyes slowly closing. Just as Angst was going to finish her off a bullet was shot at his head making him look to the side and saw a group of Hunter corp soldiers running at him with his weapons. The man sighed and pulled a spear out of May causing her to cry out as he walked over to the group.

May with half open eyes looked to her left and saw her bow was lying there and only one arrow was left. She with the last bit of her will power grabbed the bow and placed the arrow in the groove, she with a cry sat up feeling the spears digging themselves deeper in body, as she bit down on the bow string and pulled back aiming the arrow towards the sky.

The girl activated Apollos fury and with her last drops of mana and launched the blast in the air, when it exploded in the air, she let her body fall down looking up in the night sky that was filled with twinkling stars ,when above her Angst stood, he was now covered in those soldiers blood as he held the spear high in the air.

Angst: You missed your last shot girl he said devoid of emotions.

May sent him a small pained smile confusing him.

May: I didn't miss she told him in a rough tone blood escaping her mouth.

Angst: To bad then.

May closed her eyes feeling extremely tired waiting for death only to not feel anything, so she with half open eyes saw that a hand grabbed ahold of Angst arm stopping him. The girl turned her head and suddenly tears started to escape from her eyes.

May: Sebastian..she croaked

The person who stopped Angst was indeed Sebastian he had injuries covering him but his eyes was filled with fury.

Sebastian: I got your signal May...

His tone dripped with anger.
