Chapter 9: END Of The Line

All of a sudden, Jeremy kicked the gun as the bullet shot the ceiling and Yuki, Hilda and the two men were surprised as the gun landed on the ground.

"Jeremy" Yuki said in a low tone. He didn't know he will be the one who will stopped it.

"Jeremy, what do you think you are doing?!" Hilda yelled in anger and he didn't answer her. "Oh you can't talk, you are afraid to die because you have--"

Jeremy interrupted and yelled, "Shut up!" and suddenly he coughs while blood came out while kneeling. Yuki was shocked and ran to meet him, "Jeremy, are you alright?"

Jeremy nods his head indicating that he is fine. And Yuki looked at her, "What the hell is wrong with you?" He said.

Hilda, who was surprised of not knowing what Yuki was trying to say as he continues. "Can't you see it by your face. They are...

"Humans" without knowing it Charles finished Yuki's sentence, right at the moment when he discovered it.

"How do you know?" Price asked him while looking at him with a shock on his face and Charles continues, "They lack the behaviours of the aliens, in that way it would have been obvious. The previous ones you saw in group D, you saw the way one acted in a strange way to Joey Lawson. And the other one who kept quiet trying to come up with a plan."

"So what are you trying to say we shouldn't act strange, is that it?" Price asked.

"Specifically no, but making them to see it obvious is their faces. Group D encountered two humans who were undercover to be aliens. The man reacted at Lawson after telling them the route to take. He came up with a plan after that, same with the woman also. Now to group C, those two men acted a way that seems obvious that they are not one of them. That means they were afraid. Some wouldn't suspect that kind of mannerism." Charles explained.

"Meaning...?" Price asked while confused.

"Don't judge a book by its cover." Charles said as Price looked at the screen and saw the two men together while they were afraid. He was shocked and had a thought, "What is going on?" Then the scene turned black and opened to group C.

Hilda looked at Yuki and Jeremy and then to the two men and...

"How can you tell by the look of your eyes" Hilda said.

Yuki walks close to Hilda and stared at her for some moment with a serious look on his face. Hilda couldn't understand while she was confused and said, "Don't tell me you are with them?"

"What choice can I make" Yuki said as Hilda looked at the two men and walks to meet them while still holding her gun.

"Hilda" Yuki said as Jeremy hold his shoulder and Yuki looked at him confused and then to Hilda, who went close to them and stared at them for a while and said, "Guess you are right, they are humans. Pain, fear and blood are all what humans have in them." Then she reloaded her gun and Yuki was shocked and said, "Hilda! What are you doing?"

She shot an alien at the two men's back, making the two to startled. Yuki was surprised as he didn't know the alien will be at their back. Hilda walks and said one last thing, "Let's go"

Yuki and Jeremy looked at her leaving while they were full of surprises. And so they followed her same goes to the two men.

Meanwhile, at the Marionville hotel, Everyone were seated on the ground, there was no chair for them both men, women and children and they were also starving due to the long hours drive. Some group of vigilantes gathered themselves to hold a discussion.

"There's no food and water for this people. What are we going to do?" The first man asked.

"Markets have being shut down due to what is happening today. I say we steal some food stuffs." The second man said.

"What! You are saying that we should go out there. That's madness! A lot of us could be eaten by those monsters." The third man said.

"What's else should we do? There's no food and water in this damn safehouse!" The second man said.

"He's right. People can't survive in here especially pregnant women and children." The first man said.

"Then go." Thomas said while he walks to meet them. "Go and steal food at the shop since it's optional and It is not a big deal. And I'll assure you that... none of you will come back alive." He said while his eyes were focused and serious on them.

The men were shocked while some begins to gulped in fear. As one began to speak. "Er... sir we have weapons to use and there's no need to be afraid of since we can gathered more men for defense." The first man said.

"And how many men came you carry along?" Thomas said as the man were surprised while he continues, "And how many of them can fight against up to hundreds of aliens? Beside what you need to do is nothing. Your life is more precious than killing yourself. In the inner room over there" he said while he pointed. "You will discover that there is enough rice for them but it isn't enough. Two persons have to share just one." He said while they were surprised.

"It wouldn't be enough." The first man said.

"You are starving this people to death." The second man said.

"If you agreed to go out and get some food. Let me see your hands out." Thomas said and to his surprised, many of them rose up their right hands. He sighed and said, "okay, you can go get some food."

The men left while they took their guns along with them as they were prepared. So a man stopped and turned around to Thomas and said, "You aren't coming?"

"No but I have a bad feeling about someone coming here." He said.

"Who?"

Meanwhile, Roy and his men were on their way to the safehouse and he turned to the driver and said to him, "How many hours do we still have to reach them?"

"Two hours remaining sir." He said while looking at his GPS receiver.

"Good. We can still make it." He said with a serious look on his face.

Back to them, now focusing on group E, the three took a cautious steps while aiming their guns, looking round.

"The place is quiet than I expected." Said Winifred, looking up the ceiling.

"That is why we need to be full alert. How about we do this, the aliens must be hiding in one of this three doors." Tyler said while pointing at them. The two girls nodded their heads while they agreed with that as they went inside. Edna turned round looking for the aliens and then, she looked down and sees an alien dead body while the brain was rotten. She was about to scream after seeing it so irritating. But Winifred covered her mouth to avoid the alien from following her scream.

Edna looked up surprised to see that it was Winifred. "You better be quiet and promise not to scream" Winifred said. Edna nodded while she promised and Winifred free her. Edna went back, trembling.

Tyler came and said, "What's going on?"

"Edna found something that is so..." Winifred said while she was Interrupted as Edna continued to finished it, "Disgusting."

Tyler looked at the brain carefully and said, "The way I'm seeing the aliens they also have humans intelligence, if you two can observe that, you will know"

"Well I know that too. The way they dodged they respond to that so quick." Winifred said.

"Yeah. And they sense your present." Edna said while still feeling irritated on the brain.

"Let's get going. Our mission is not your over." Tyler said while he left.

"Yeah" Winifred said while following Tyler.

"Um..." Edna wanted to say something and she gets up and said, "Wait up."

Outside of the building to where Michael and the rest were. Edge found something suspicious on his tracker as he shows it to captain Michael.

"Cap, take a look at this." He said while showing it to captain. Michael's eyes widened opened in shock on what he sees. In the tracker, they were lot of green dots surrounded in a particular area. So he calls the five groups.

"All groups we got problem. There are much aliens surrounded at the east. I want you all to evacuate and leave it to us. Is that understood?!"

"Is that an order, cap" Yuki said, making the captain to be surprised. "Is this what you want us to do. I thought we were soldiers." As Yuki says this, the rest of the groups were reflected on his saying as he continues, "Why did we come to the STARs in the first place? Isn't not to fight. Isn't not to save the world. I'm sorry for disobeying your orders, captain. But, I want to fight too, even if I'm the only one."He cuts the call.

"Yuki... do you copy" Michael said as they was no response. "Crap, this is going to be bad"

"Don't think about that, Michael" Chief Price said while coming out from the vehicle and said, "All you have to do is to back them up."

"Chief, that wouldn't work. They just have to retreat." Michael said while he didn't agreed to what the chief said.

"Are you trying to say that they didn't come here to fight. These children may be little but they are intelligent. They can use their critical thinking to solve difficult tasks like this." Chief said while Michael tried to understand the fact as the chief continues, "We are done retreating, if we do that, those extraterrestrials will follow us."

"I understand, Chief." Michael said and turned to his teams and said, "Alright guys let's help the students! We have to just do it whether you like it or not! Is that understood!" Michael yelled while trying to give them his attention.

After saying that, suddenly at the last floor there was an explosion making the teams shocked while looking at it.

"What was that?" One of the troops said.

Michael who was in focus to see what was that explosion until...

"Captain, the aliens are making their moves. Shit, this is bad. We got a huge one heading to the..." He looked with shocked while seeing the direction was to the students.

Michael clenches his machine gun as he runs inside the building.

"Wait, captain. What are you doing?" Freda said while looking at him running. Michael didn't listen while continuing to run. So the teams followed him.

In the building, to group C: Yuki, Hilda and Jeremy and to the two men running after them while carrying the box. The three were running after hearing that huge explosion.

"What was that explosion?" Hilda asked.

"I don't know, but it must be coming from the fifth floor." Yuki said.

They continuing running as they encounter aliens on their way while shooting them to hurry up. At last, they made it and to their surprised, the whole groups were there, pointing their guns at the direction to the door, which was closed.

"Guys" Yuki said in amazed.

"Group C is okay" Moulton said happily.

"Yeah, same with you guys." Hilda said

Bethany pointed her gun to the two men, making the two to be scared.

"Beth, put the gun down. They aren't one of them." Hilda said.

"The fuck, do you think I'm playing here." Beth said while still pointing the gun to them. "They can still tell us if they are or not."

"Look we are not." The first man said, while raising up his two hands.

"Yes. He's telling the truth." The second man said while he was the one holding the box.

Walter laid down Beth's gun and she looked at him surprised and said, "Don't worry yourself. They are humans. Now that aside, Yuki I heard your conversation while talking to the captain.

"What's up. Did I say anything wrong?" Yuki asked.

"No. But we don't understand what made you not to give up even though you look small." Walter said.

"Hey, fourteen ain't small. And don't try to insult me." Yuki said.

Then a noise was heard inside the door as they pointed their guns to it.

"Only God knows what is inside this door." Tyler said.

"I guess we have to find out." Joey said.

"Okay at the count of three. 1... 2... 3..." Jim said and they broke down the door and to their surprised on what they were seeing. They saw a huge muscular alien and by its side were the aliens.

"What the fuck is that?" Dawn said while she was shock.

"This is not good." Moulton said while looking scared.

The huge monster looked at them and made a loud roar. RAAAAAAAWWRR!!!
