HAZEL'S POV

I glanced at him.

"Why does everyone have this perception about taking a course according to what you're good at?"

He cleared his throat. "It's not just about being good at it. It's also about having the drive. You know the..."He said demonstrating with his fist like he was punching something slowly. I chuckled.

"Desire?" I completed it for him.

He snapped his finger and pointed at me. "You got it dear." He said and I frowned.

"What did you just call me?" I requested.

He looked up from the textbook confused. "What?"

"You called me something just now. What was that?"

He sighed with realization. "Yeah, I called you dear. Any problem?"

"Yes. There's a problem. And it's that only my boyfriend is allowed to call me that." I replied and he frowned.

"It's just a friendly term. What are you insinuating?"

"Well it's not to me. It's a big deal okay. Watch how you call me next time."

He looked at me like I was going nuts but I didn't care. Donny would've been mad about it too if he was here.

He finally sighed after staring at me crazily for like ages.

"I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to. It's just. I'm kinda used to it. It's what I call almost all my friends."

"Almost?" I inquired corking an eyebrow at him.

He chuckled. "I meant only the girls. I can't call the guys dear, can I?" He said and I couldn't help laughing myself.

"It's fine then. Sorry about bothering you with it."

He nodded looking at me and looked down turning his gaze back to the textbook.

"So we were talking about having the drive for what you want to do before doing it." He continued.

"Yeah. About that. It's a serious issue because I don't think I have that drive." I added.

"Nah. You've got the drive Hazel you just can't seem to assimilate the theoretical aspect of it. It's just like someone who knows how to draw, loves doing it with passion, but can't define visual arts." He said with a smile. I liked the way he pronounced my name drawing the 'el' making it sound exotic. I nodded. Kid's got wisdom.

"You know, I wonder why you are a student." I said and he looked at me folding his arms.

"Why?"

"You sound like a professor." I replied chuckling. He laughed. Waoh. I haven't seen him laugh in a long time. It really made his face look more illuminated and cute. Shit for hell's sake you've got a boyfriend Hazel, stop admiring another cute guy. I cautioned myself on time.

"It's another of my gifts. I also have this nack for motivation. I love it too." He said staring into my eyes. I smiled and looked away. Why was I suddenly feeling so fidgety?

"Good for you. Unlike we who can't locate our gifts."

"Hey. No. Don't say that. You've found your gift Hazel. You're just having a hard time nurturing it. But don't worry. I've got your back." I gazed into his cute grey eyes and smiled. This was the motivation I needed to make my day.

"Thanks." I replied. He chuckled.

"You don't have to thank me. I take it as part of my obligations so it's nothing."

"No. I didn't mean that. I meant helping me in class today."

He smiled. "You're welcome."
