Prince daron

"Wouldn't understand."I said.

"You are the crown prince and you are about to become the emperor soon. Yes I know being an emperor comes with great responsibility but it just a little stress and there is nothing you can't handle if you put your mind to it. It your responsibility and you have trained and prepared your whole life for this prince marlin you just have to be strong."

Sighing he held my hands and looked deep into my eyes. I felt lost for a moment but I quickly recovered my self. What was I thinking? He was a crown prince and I was just a nobody still under probation in a land I don't even know.

"Am not really the crown prince." I heard him say waking me up from my silly thoughts.

"What, what do you mean?" I asked.

"Am not really the crown prince, every one seems to forget that. I guess that why you never found out.You are very inquisitive you know that, don't think I haven't noticed you snooping around the palace."

He totally caught me of guard.I thought no one had noticed,i just wanted to figure out everything about this land and how I could get out. What did he mean by noticed was he monitoring me.

"Hey! were you monitoring me?" I asked.

"What! Why would I do that, the guards saw you and reported to me." He replied.

I was shocked someone else noticed but who?

"Huh, ok if you say so back to what you were saying. If you are not the crown prince who is,and who are you?" I asked.

"Am prince marlin, my brother daron is the crown prince. He is the first queen's son, he went into exile a few years ago and he never returned many has forgotten about him some said he's dead. Few months ago before the death of my father the emperor a strange woman had come to see him. They had a private discussion and I overheard them saying he might be back,am not the crown prince and if my brother daron is back then the throne and this kingdom rightfully belongs to him." He answered with a strange sadness in his voice.

"Wait,what. how are you sure he is back, if he is back isn't he supposed to have shown up by now." I asked again.

"That why am confused, i and my brother daron haven't always been on good terms even our moms were not very close not until he went into exile. If my brother is back I would like for him to take his place. I don't want any other feud between us because of the throne. If he is really back he would have shown up to claim the throne,that has always been his dream."Prince marlin answered.

"Your brother would take the throne?" I said. Why!

"I really don't have any interest in the throne." Prince marlin said. "I just want to become a scholar. I want to learn about things and travel and unravel mysteries."

"But why did he went into exile?"I asked, interrupting him.

"He was said to have been seen with a witch." He replied.

"A witch."I gasped.

This was all new to me why did everyone kept it a secret.

"Dark magic is forbidden in this kingdom no one is allowed to practice dark magic." He said,my brother was convicted for practicing dark magic he was detected by the sorcerer."

"Sorcerer, there is a sorcerer in this kingdom?" I asked.

"Yes, there is?" He replied.

"He is at the palace,his castle is behind the third queen's quarters you ought to have known by now."He said.

"So he lives up at that scary place, I thought it was inhabited, it was always dark around there.The air there smells like dirt and mint." I told him.

"The sorcerer detected that the black magic was coming from prince daron quarters followed by the allegation that he was seen with a witch. My father made him confessed to the crime and he went on exile." He continued.

"But every one said the first queen had no child?" I asked.

"Well it simple,they didn't like to talk about him. He was not everyone's favorite and I guess they hated him and chose to forget him." He replied.

"Forget him! Why, what about his mother." I asked,getting more and more interested.

"I brought you here to see the view not to talk about all this."

"Come on tell me did his mother chose to forget him too." I said.

"Prince daron had a very strange circumstance surrounding his birth he was said to be cursed, even my father believed that he was cursed I guess his own mother believed that too. The first queen was my mother sworn rival both fought for power.The first queen was first to give birth and few months after, i was born. It was said that on the day prince marlin was born there was a tragedy never witnessed before. The ground became hot and the sea flooded it bank.The ice melted for the first time and water poured from the sky, no one could understand this many lives were lost. The sorcerer was summoned and he said it was a bad omen a sign. He grew up to be ok and many people began to wonder if he wasn't a curse after all,not until the dark magic incident." He said with a sad voice but I couldn't help but feel some wicked intentions in his voice.

"Why was he even telling me this." I thought, but I shoke the feeling of doubt off.

"It getting dark, I should go." I said.
