Mr. Jiobaf had heard from others that Lance had settled the matter with the stubborn Mr. Anderson for Alberto. He had a good impression of Lance and would sometimes mention this incident during social occasions.
He had been keeping an eye on news about Lance and acquired some information; today was the perfect opportunity to inquire further since he faced many of the same troubles.
"We have a partnership," Lance did not admit to working for Alberto, and indeed, that was the fact.
In a sense, Alberto had helped him obtain his startup capital and had slightly expanded his network in Golden Port City, so even if Alberto's "orders" did not offer much money, Lance was still willing to take them.
Owed favors were always the hardest to repay—sometimes Alberto would even give him extra funds for activities, and the more he did so, the harder it became for Lance to refuse.
Mr. Jiobaf took a sip of wine and said, "I have some similar business I'd like to entrust to you."
