POV: Bash

Location: Forest Empire

My back was resting on the trunk of a cherry tree, my legs spread on a soft blanket of flowers. I was looking in the direction of the Orphanage it was two hours after midnight, the prime time for the beast wolf to hunt.

Protecting Ash is my duty, my reason to live, my mind can't rest knowing the leader of the wolf pack is still lurking in the western forest, a few kilometers from the orphanage.

My eyes were heavy, drifting down the hill to the stone building and up to the night sky, to the sea of stars above me. It was a full moon, another reason I can't let my guard down.

From deep within the forest, my ears caught on the rustling of dry leaves. Could it be the wolf?
