Chapter 9 - Sparring [2]
Let's summarize what had happened before.
Aither wanted to spar with the general in private, and the only way to do so was to spar inside the private training area.
However, the place was currently occupied by princess Amelia, and so after hearing what Aither said.
The general suggested to ask her, by asking her he meant Aither will be asking her.
And so that lead us to the current situation where Aither complimented Amelia and her becoming flustered.
However, she instantly regained composure, going back to her calm and aloof expression.
"So what is it exactly do you want with me?"
She asked but in a more gentle tone than before.
Though she already guessed what they wanted.
"If possible could the princess let us train in the second area?"
Aither asked and Amelia thought about it for a moment before replying.
"Fine, however do your best to not disturb me."
At her reply which was completely different to what the general thought.
"Fine, but if you do so disturb me, you will face the consequences."
He though she will say something along those lines but she didn't.
And this was good for them.
"Really? Thank you princess Amelia."
Aither slightly bowed his head when he gave his thanks and entered the place after Amelia and along with the general.
"I will be practicing with my sword here, so you two can use the second area."
After saying so, Amelia returned to practicing with her sword.
As for Aither and the general they entered the second area and closed the entrance to it as to not disturb the princess.
Then, they stood facing opposite to each other with a distance of a few meters.
"Before we get started, show me first how you infuse your sword."
Following what he said, Aither held out the sword in his right hand.
Then after that, the whole sword glowed for a second before it condensed and gathered only to the blade.
It formed a refined golden black aura, which made the general widened his eyes.
(He already refined his sword aura, what a monster.)
"Well then, I'll be restricting my strength to your level and use the same sword as yours."
The general lowered his strength and a sword similar to Aither's suddenly appeared in his hands.
It came out of thin air, and it made Aither wonder where it came from.
Then, following that, the sword in the generals hands instantly formed a greatly refined yellow aura.
Much faster than Aither and much more refined as the aura, if not seen closely would make anyone miss it.
After all the aura could be said to be really tiny and seen only on the tip of the edges of the blade.
(It seems that even though the general restricted his strength to mine, his skill in refining an aura is overwhelmingly better than me.)
Aither thought but he was not discouraged, in the near future he would also do his best to refine an aura to that point.
He would make the general his current goal and surpassed it.
However, now is not the time. He first needed to know the limits of his current strength.
With that thought in my, and after seeing the general in a fighting stance he moved.
The moment he moved, he instantly vanished from his spot.
He was moving at an incredible speed by strengthening his body using Aeven.
He approached the general readying his sword for an attack.
However, to his surprised the general didn't move but threw a small knife towards him.
This was a completely unexpected attack, he thought that they were only going to fight with a sword.
But he calmed himself and thought about his next move.
Dodge?
But if he did so the general would have enough time to move and strike him as he was already close to him.
Then, after thinking that he made his move.
He slashed his swords in an upward motion at the knife and deflected it.
Then, he did a 360 degree spin not losing his momentum and instead used the forced by twisting his body to moving faster.
When he was face to face with the general, with his sword still upward from slashing the knife and turning around.
He slashed down at the general.
And facing his strike, the general smiled.
