Arcane Climate Art

In the middle of the Desolate Road Forest…

The lush and green forest was quite as usual. Faint chirping of birds could be heard. Warm rays of sun pierced through the trees.

As one went deeper into the forest the fauna became even more dense. Wild plants and medicinal ingredients can be found here. But suddenly dark dead trees started appearing. Grass had turned into ash. Trees were completely bare. A world with a Deathly aura appeared.

In the middle of this deathly world was a giant stone.

A young muscular teen was sitting on this stone. His chest heaved up and down as he breathed. It looked like he was struggling to control his breathing.

"I overdid it." He opened his eyes. A deep lingering fear could be seen in his eyes.

"Devour Spell is unfathomable. How did Emperor Starmist come up with such a vile Spell?" Wei Ren thought in his heart with indignation.

He stood up and patted himself. A thick layer of soot and ash had formed on his body.

He looked around and marveled at the scene before his eyes.

"I used the Devour Spell only four times in eight days yet it was enough to suck the Elemental Qi dry. I can't sense even a tiny wisp of Qi in this region." He jumped down from the stone and inspected the dead trees and dark ground.

By using the Devour Spell four times he was able to reach the fourth stage of Earth Law. It was relatively easy to make the 38th and 39th Qi meridians but the fortieth meridian was impossible to establish.

It seems every time he tries to reach the next stage, there is a bottleneck waiting for him.

He had to use the Devour Spell twice to accumulate enough Qi in his body to make the fortieth meridian. A small amount of qi was left after his rampant expenditure. Using this qi he established the 41st meridian. Although this meridian was very weak because he forced it to form, he was sure that after some nourishing, this Qi meridian would become stronger.

He successfully reached the Third Stage of Qi Streams in time. But this quick burst in power came at a price.

His qi was now tinged with red color. Every use of Devour Spell corrupts the Elemental Qi of the user. Previously, he would use it one time a month and then practice Alchemy. But now he has used it four times in a row. His Qi control has become terrible. He was barely able to guide his Qi inside his own body.

If he had been using a different Cultivation Technique than Starmist Law then there was no way he would have survived with this kind of Qi. His own Qi would have revolted against him.

Starmist Law was a heaven defying cultivation technique. It was very overbearing and dominating on Elemental Qi.

This is why he was breathing so hard. He suppressed his Qi and settled it down after a long time. Albeit poorly.

"I have managed to calm it down. But I still can't revert it back to its original color. This red Qi gives me a strange feeling." His brows were furrowed with worry.

"I will deal with it later. Worrying right now is useless. Let's try Arcane Climate Art. There are two days left before Grandpa assigns me my first mission." He shook away the worry and diverted his attention to a more pressing issue at hand.

His speed was definitely faster than any person with a cultivation base at his level. But in terms of offense, he was absolutely useless. Just good agility will not protect him forever.

His cultivation has reached the requirement to start learning the Arcane Climate Art. He retrieved a small jade slip out of his void ring. Looking at the jade slip reminded him of his mother.

She said that only two people have successfully mastered all the magical Spells of Arcane Climate Art. One of them is his maternal grandfather. He knew nothing about this powerful maternal grandfather. Asking anything about his mother's clan is a taboo.

He had numerous questions in his heart but he never enquired his parents.

He left the deathly region and rushed into the forest. Cultivating at a place rich with Elemental Qi is much better. He had to travel almost ten thousand meters to find the perfect spot.

A large oak tree with a giant hole in its trunk was situated at this place. He observed the hole before barging in. He found a large bird nest inside the hole. But it hadn't been used in a long time.

After making himself comfortable, he began practicing his first Magical Art.
