Chapter 17 - The Scared Guard

'Has something happened outside that had made Little Liu not have visited me since yesterday?'

Li Yu who was seated on the branch of a tall tree inside a little garden while holding a large book in his hands was currently furrowing his brows in deep thought.

Li Yu had just found the garden this morning, it was located somewhere within the large lounge.

There were few spirit fruit trees, flowers, grass, and a small pond in this little garden, and it was letting out a great fragrance.

Lin Yu who was seated on this branch could not focus on the book in his hands at all. In fact, the page he was staring blankly at had been opened since he got here several hours ago, and he had not flipped it at all.

Although Li Yu had lost himself in the books he was reading yesterday, a little part of him could not help but miss Little Liu deeply.

Since Li Yu and Little Liu had known each other, this would be the first time they had been separated for so long.

Li Yu jumped down from the tall tree and landed with a bang sound on the neatly trimmed grass below.

He began to pace around while thinking of all the possibilities of things that could have gone wrong as to why Little Liu had not come to visit him.

Li Yu knew the sort of person Little Liu was, she couldn't do without seeing him for a few hours, not to talk for more than a day.

After much thought, Li Yu began to walk step after the other to the huge palace's gate.

After Li Yu had been studying the necessary books he needed the most last night, Li Yu had cleaned a few radius diameters in the lounge which was the best spot that would make someone not look hard for him.

When he was done, Li Yu had then taken a long tour to one of the thousands of rooms in the palace to move a bed, pillows, and quits.

'Bang- f*ck!!!"

Li Yu who had never given much thought suddenly pounded his fist heavily on one of the huge gates, then like someone had nailed his hand heavily with a huge hammer, Li Yu screamed in pain as he began to shake the arm around.

It was until a while that Li Yu stopped the vigorous shaking he was giving his hand.

"Damn!!! What f*cking material was even used to forge this evil door?" Li Yu asked himself in anger while giving the large door a death glare that would have taken the door's soul out if it has any.

'Sigh, who told me to care for this little girl this much?" Li Yu sighed in regret, then he turned back from the gates and began to walk quietly into the palace.

It was a few minutes after that Li Yu finally returned while covered in cobwebs from head to toe, he could be seen holding a huge hammer in the second hand of the one he had injured earlier.

'May heavens change the patriarch's mind so that he would call off the brat's home prison, else I might really go crazy anytime from now,' the guard who was assigned to keep watch of Li Yu was currently muttering to himself while sweating heavily like a dog.

This guard's upper body was completely naked at the moment while glistering sweat was oozing out of him under the hot sun.

The guard who had become bored to death after just spending a single day guarding the cold palace could not sit still anymore.

He couldn't find anybody to communicate with sa from the maids that brought food from time to time and the little devil.

So he could only find something to keep himself busy.

The guard was currently lifting a huge boulder that is times two the size of himself while breathing heavily and muttering quietly to himself like someone who had been possessed.

"Baaaannnngggggg!!!!!!!!"

A loud sound suddenly sounded within the dead quiet place, scaring the guard that was busy lifting his boulder peacefully.

"Holy f*ck!!!"

The guard became scared to death that he threw off the huge boulder he was lifting.

If not because he was lucky, the boulder would have fallen on his head or leg with the way he threw it out.

Not noticing the danger he had just overcome, the guard was currently busy looking around vigilantly.

He rushed to a huge tree not far from him and picked up a spear.

'What- what was that?!'

Sweat that would fill a huge bucket was currently running down his body at the moment.

Nobody knows whether it was the result of the exercise he was doing or the result of the sound that just scared him.

"Was it my ear playing tricks in me?" The guard asked himself thoughtfully after he had watched for a few minutes but couldn't see anything nor hear a sound, safe from the birds that were chipping happily from time to time In the trees.

'That's it, I think my ears are playing tricks on me. These birds would have long been scared away if what I thought I heard was real.'

The guard finally felt relieved.

He was just about to drop his spear again and sot on the ground when suddenly, another "BAAAAAAANNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!!"

This time around, the sound was much more louder than earlier, which finally scared the birds into fleeing.

Turning his head abruptly, the guard gazed at the palace gate vigilantly.

'Has a beast entered the cold palace or was it the brat causing troubles again?'

Even though the guard thought like this, he was not able to calm himself at all.

He couldn't help but think of the first possibility with a deep fear and chill in his heart.

He knew what his penalty would be if a strange beast took the young master's life, at his watch.

The guard hurriedly picked up his spear again with a serious look on his face.

Not caring to be careful anymore, the guard rushed into his little sentry and only came out again a few seconds later, holding a large bunch of keys.

With the keys and spear in his hand, the guard rushed to the palace entrance, as if his life depends on it.

Breathlessly, the guard inserted a large key into a lock pad that was not there when they first got there.

Like someone who was been chased for his life, the guard turned the key while his heart pound heavily in his chest.

As the guard removed the lock and pushed the door open with a bang, he suddenly felt a great force transfer from his head to his whole body, sending him several meters behind.

"Ops!!!!!!"
