Chapter 40 - Party

Two weeks passed after that and the last episode of Nexus Animation's first anime aired. It was a great ending to a solid and loved story.

After 12 episodes, it was finally time to conclude if this anime was a success or not, something Kira weeks before already said it is a complete triumph for them.

On all the major platforms that you can give ratings for anime, 'Kuu Neru Futari Sumu Futari' has an average rating of seven, which means that people consider it good and worth a watch, but not a masterpiece. Something that Kira expected.

It was a nice anime, that was wholesome, lovable and just a nice break from all the fighting and gore. To summarize it – it really was a success.

Nexus Animation managed to fill its coffers, by selling the distribution rights to OnlyAnime for the rest of the world and to Kisato TV and Tokyo Anime for Japan. They also earned money by selling merchandise, stuff they sold was especially popular in Kisato, for obvious reasons. It is hard to say what was exact numbers when it comes to their earnings, but it should be close to 10000000 Japanese Yen (somewhere around 66 thousand US Dollars)

So, with their pockets, a little bit fuller, Kira, Joshua and company could breathe easier, though this is just the beginning. The second project, like the first one needs to be an even bigger hit.

When it comes to the anime season they aired their anime in (Winter 2022.), as you can guess the best-performing anime were 'VINLAND SAGA SEASON 2', 'Bungo Stray Dogs 4', 'Isekai Nonbiri Nouka', etc. There were a lot of good shows this season, so it really is a massive coup for 'Kuu Neru Futari Sumu Futari' to perform well.

It remains to be seen how is Kira going to move for the second project. Will it be like the first one, buying to rights for an IP to animate and do everything on its own, or will he try to form a committee, something that seems to be more of a norm in the anime industry, or maybe he is going to concentrate on the anime they are going to make for OnlyAnime?

Well, looking at their last meeting, it seems making two anime is the goal, and how is that goal going to be accomplished remains to be seen.

That's something that is going to be talked about in the next few days, as today is the day for relaxing and partying.

Yes, you heard that correctly. The ever-loving and respected CEO, Kira Rowe took his employees to a fancy Italian restaurant in Tokyo, for them to celebrate the end of their first anime.

The whole crew was here, even the new employees.

Kira booked the whole restaurant for his employees, using of course money from his pocket, showing a respectable side as a businessman.

The vibes were immaculate and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves. The food still hadn't arrived, so the people formed their own small groups and they were talking about, well everything.

In one group there were two new animators, alongside them were Yamato Shoda and Nikola Šubić Zrinjski. The two new animators, one looking totally uninterested and one totally opposite of that were listening to the bragging of Yamato Shoda.

"This one did half of the work for this new anime, from the characters' designs, to even helping with animation, truly this one is a master of all crafts…"

Nikola, after listening to that for a couple of minutes had enough of His Highness and just said – "You may be a jack of all trades but mister you are a master of none."

And like that, the arguing started, with Yamato spitting fire, while Nikola was flexing, just your usual conversation.

The next group was kind of unusual one, Shiba Ryo, Noya Katsu and Keiko Hana.

Hana with a beautiful smile on her face was listening to Shiba Ryo trying to impress her, poor boy wasn't really used to talking to girls, so he was spectacularly failing.

"So yeah, who is your favourite Hentai character, I don't want to sound arrogant but I hold the record for the most watched Hentai in the town of Kisato?"

Keiko Hana was smiling, but in her mind she was speechless, asking herself where in the world she ended up.

Noya Katsu was sitting and of course, sleeping but he heard everything, he opened his eyes and in a neutral tone just said – "Zero rizz, zzzz".

And Shiba Ryo just continued digging his own grave, "Oj, what's wrong with talking about majestic stuff like Hentai".

Marie Taylor was sitting with her new boss and was talking with him about the old days at Oxford. While, Joshua had a drink with Toma Yuu, talking about, well, old man things.

The talking and buzz continued and then the food came. The aroma and just the first look of it was majestic. Kira found out that the chef working here was a former apprentice of a famous chef in Italy. So, no wonder this food looked really authentic.

Before the people had the chance to start eating, Kira rose from his seat, clapped and gathered the attention of everyone present.

He coughed a little and started talking.

"I know that you all are hungry but give me a minute to deliver to you one of those famous anime speeches…"

Like a true businessman, he started his speech with a joke, making most of the people present laugh.

"It was hard, for all of us, we had to deal with lack of finances, shortage of people, lack of reputation and worst of all, you had to deal with your young and inexperienced CEO trying to do things blindly, first of all, thank you, for trusting me…"

This last sentence earned him clapping from the people listening, and especially those who worked with him from the beginning, they looked at him with pride. Once inexperienced and young CEO became a true master in the business world, in such a short time.

"It was tough, months of working, months of negotiating, months of arguing and months of our nerves getting the better of us, but we still prevailed, no, all of you did. You in the middle of working from a group of individuals become true colleagues, friends, that had a common goal, and as we are here eating and partying, it just means you succeed and for that, I can only tell you again and again, splendid job…"

The speech went off for a couple of minutes more and Kira Rowe with his raised glass said his last piece – "The next project awaits us but for now, with new forces, enjoy your time, eat, drink and fill your batteries, because the anime industry doesn't wait for no one, Kanpai."
